Hey hoping for some help

I am trying to download a copy of a whole website. I am kind of a newb to this. I am using Cpanel, and I have gone to back up the site. I get 2 options, the home directory and the MYSQL database.

The idea is to download the site on my PC so I have the files, go virus hunting, then simply upload the site back. I assume I download both (home D and Mysql?)

I have adobe dreamweaver, and know my way around that software a little better. Once I have completed the task of ridding the site of the evil virus horde, I guess I can upload it back via FTP?

Please help

Yea you could upload it back via FTP but the server would have to most likely be configured the same as it was in the past for it to function properly.

I would just make a new site in Dreamweaver (meaning you just create a main site directory on your computer and give Dreamweaver the FTP details) then use the Get command to download the site, that will populate the directory you made with the files from your site. I do that whenever I want to work on my site from a new computer, I've never had a problem with it. Then when you've edited the files you need you just use the Put command to upload it again.

Thanks, we got it sorted in the end :-)
