Urgent save backup help

My primary GT5 data has been corrupted, so I went to use the backup it has on the PS3. I have a USB save that is about 150 game days old, but I couldn't copy my backup data to my USB - is there any way this can be done?

I'm not really sure, but I think you can't copy the backup data

you have to delete the corrupted file, then load the backup, and the copy the new data that is gonna be created

but someone who knows for sure would help you better than that

Thanks, I was a bit nervous on loading my USB backup in case it were to overwrite the PS3 backup. If I upload my PS3 backup, will it become my new main save so I have 2 PS3 saves again? Please help on this. I am quite desperate for answers.

Short and sweet: no.

If you corrupted your save outside the console (misc tools) and loaded it back to the PS3 and booted GT5, your backup save will have the same corrupted file.
Nothing you can do about it anymore, besides copying your 150 days old save to the ps3 and play from there.

Thanks, fixed now. Started up GT5, then loaded the backup file. I then exited the game and made a USB copy of my new main save. Super happy
