Best open-1:15
Best race lap-1:07

My best opening lap was a 1'11.8 and my fastest race lap was a 1'03.7, but for that I really had to push the tires which were nearly undriveable by the end of the stint so I lost quite a bit there doing 1'07-8s. It's surely still faster than 2-stopping though, isn't it? :odd:
And I'm not near to 19'30 yet...

PS. Chinese Grand Prix was an absolute cracker btw - won't spoil it for anyone who's going to watch it later though...

renault had made many stupid mistake and with some bad luck, that's make god dawm schumacher won the race:grumpy:

Finally got a fairly decent race run in and did'nt have to much conflict with AI. I think I'm done with it now.

I don't get speedvision! WAAAHAAA!!!!......:( :(

I don't watch speed much any more.

Apologies to east and all as I was obligated to other things this weekend and was unable to get a clean race time. I submitted my qualifying run, forwhatever it is worth and willpost a replay when necessary. Looking ahead to round 4 (when will it be posted?) for a better performance where I will not be so pinched on time. My girl is leaving for New York, so I was helping her so she could get a little time to rest before leaving. :happysad:

PS: The Chinese GP was, IMHO, the best GP of the year with Hungary and Italy to follow (Italy gets the nod simply for the 'retirement' speech). Cracking drive from Schumacher. Then again, Renault lost the race in the pits for the most part. Also, the race was suitable for Bridgestone's intermediate tires near the second half of the race. Everything just came together at the right time for Ferrari here. Can't wait for the next two races.

Its all good Z.

My times are in, I coulda took a few more seconds off my race but it started getting frustrateing as I kept making stupid mistakes, almost lost another DS2 lol so decided to stop and turn in my times for the safety of it :D

when can we start the fuji race????racefan said this race will be end at tomorrow, but he will post the result at oct 4th,how's the weight/power systems go?????we can't start unless he post the result

You could always just take a guess at the weight you'll get and go to racing. Just may get lucky and guess it correct. That's probably what I'll have to do before I go on vacation. Not sure if it's going to be a vacation with a week of no GT4. It's more like going to hell for a week.

Which begs the question: Qualifying rewards points, but if you DNF the race will you still carry a weight penalty if you have made the top 3 in qualifying?

After seeing your times YIN, you probably be getting another +3% weight, unless your teammate was faster than you this time, either way, you wont get more than +9, so start practicing on that, if you end up getting less than that, when you take the weight off you'll only go faster ;) Im gonna start practicing Fuji now with the Stock Weight and Power, if im wrong bout my weight then no biggy, its not like the splits I post mean anything, only the results at the end of the week count, by then i'll have my weight right :sly:

if i really end up with 9% weight, that is no way to win at fuji:crazy:

Much as I appreciate you being slowed down to the point where I might have a chance in hell of matching or beating your times :sly:, there's an issue to be addressed here.

If you take a further 3% weight penalty and you then are unable to place in the top 3 or 4, there should be a way where your weight can (gradually) come back down to 0, otherwise it's not really fair on you IMO. We all want a tight competition, but if you're fast and submit regularly you shouldn't be stopped from ever winning again.

I suppose, and this is just a suggestion, if you fail to make the top three after a weight penalty, you can take the penalty off (or maybe just 1%?) for the following race, and on and on until you get a podium finish and receive the next penalty...
OR, the weight for the bottom 3 participants can be taken off, regardless of how many finishers there are - because at the current level of attendance nobody will ever receive a weight bonus.

Any thoughts racefan? or anyone else?

The way I see it, if we all manage to beat him in Fuji then we will all end up with weight penalties and not him so it will all level out again for the next race :)

Oh yes - good point! That one escaped me

thanks guys,i will try as hard as i can to win as many race as possible,it's impossible to win all the race all by myself,so,somebody will get some weight or power penalties too, then i might have chance to win or podium again,it's impossible to go against you guys 1 lap performance at fuji(super long straght, only have a few corners),but i will try to win the race:)

So, does anyone know where the thread is with the race results and the next round?\

Damn it! I just realized that Nurb has been replaced in the list. That sucks.

We have to race quallify with all the weight penalties that we were cursed with. Yin is racing qualify with +6%. jump_ace is +2%, I'm at +1% and you are running 0% for Leguna Seca. So If you continure JUST running gualify runs and not race you will get points and never earn +% in weight There is no weight curse in qualifing. Its kinda like robbing Qualify points. You should really try and do the race also.

But yes the weight you earn (as of now) stays with you through out the series and must also race qualify runs with your weight gains.

he said he's busy this week.....:) i think he will try to do race next or this week,we should have the very interesting battle coming up:tup:

Yeah, interesting for you guys. I can't wait to get this thing over with. Way too frustrating.

Thanks very much for the reply, rmk700. Yes, I should have completed that race, unfortunately I got caught up with helping out a friend before she left for New York.

This week, however, I'll have plenty of time to get the race completed. Technically, I started 4 hours early for Fuji 90's so I could familiarize myself with the track in case I'm not home by midnight EST (I'm CST).

Running with 0% / 0%, I'm pretty much done with qualifying for the week unless someone posts some crazy splits. I'll get started on playing with AI combos when I get home tonight. ;)

Luck to all.

Look at it this way, you'll get some Arcade Mode practice anyway. Like you, I have very little experience with Arcade Mode.

The bad thing with the F1 in Arcade Mode is that you are unable to change the ride height and the toe settings in particular. These seem to be the biggest settings (aside from gearing) that decrease perforance in comparison to GT Mode.

Yes, sure wished you were here earlier. We had a vote and unfortunatly GTmode lost by one vote.:grumpy:

Personally, I'll take days and days to tune a car specifically to a track. The F1 is no exception. So to drive on a track with a car that has a bad setup and I have nothing I can do about it gets very frustrating. :ouch: Every single track requires a different setup, and I'd rather run the race once and deal with the mistakes then run it over and over again and ruin how I drive in GT mode.

I might actually be competing if it were in GT mode. And I'm not even in anyone elses league here.

If you only drive cars that are completely glued to the tarmac then obviously you are going to struggle when you get into a situation where you are given a difficult car to drive and are unable to tune it. If you could learn how to be quick with this car in this series i'm sure it would only make you a better driver, it certainly wouldnt ruin your driving ability! Though it might make you a little lazy when it comes to setting up a car lol.

I am like you [days and days..] when it comes to gearing. No matter if I think I've found the perfect setup, I'll still adjust each gear to the thousandth to see if it's worth any gain in performance. I've been running the same basic suspension setup [only changing camber angles here and there] for every track I've hotlapped [all of them, except reverse..].

I do adjust downforce when necessary (Le Sarthe, etc.), but I don't bother touching anything else. Oh, and disabling the LSD [everything to 5, 5, 5], IMO, allows you to 'feel' the car better. After a while, you get to notice that you can barely feel each little difference as well as see how the LSD can limit your own driving style and line. The F1 car is one of the best teachers in drawing the straightest line possible, obviously being open-wheel. If you can learn on the quickest [not fastest.. hehe] car in the game in how to refine your steering inputs, you're pretty much golden for all of the other cars. I mention driving a straight line a lot because I know that, at first, I tried to drive much too far on the inside simply because the F1 car would allow it, especially in GT Mode.

It all feels 'fast' because of what the F1 car is and does, but the more you steer and hug that inside, the more you lose little bits of time along the way. Take advantage of all the track available even if you don't think the car has to take that wide of a line. If you nail the corner, you'll notice it doesn't take much steering input at the exit in order to draw your next straight line to the next corner, instead of if you're steering all the way through the corner (i.e., understeer). The insane toe settings, stiff springs and low suspension are a disaster waiting to happen for the F1 in Arcade Mode and all combine to sort of 'numb' the feedback you get from the car, which is one of the reasons it snaps so quickly during moments of oversteer. The only thing you can do is try to sharpen your reflexes and anticipate what each bump causes the car to do, then react as quickly and correctly as you can.

As for Arcade Mode in general, gearing is key. In most cases, especially with the F1, I try to set the gearing so I max out at the very braking point for the longest straight.

For Fuji, 360km/h is perfect for my race [as you may be drafting some and need the extra gearing], but I used 350km/h in qualifying. Even though it maxes out a bit before the braking point at Turn 1, the performance advantage is a few tenths better than 360km/h over the rest of the circuit.

Repetition is key for both modes of gaming. If you mess up on a lap, one of the best things to do is [yep, sounds funny..] practice completing your 'off' as if you had to take care of your car. If you have enough run-off, don't bother being too optimistic by attempting a hero move thinking you'll magically save the car and catch your ghost . . . just calmly lift off the throttle and drive a straight line some more, so your tires can grip (depending on the circuit, of course) and you can brake. If you can really save it, you'll eventually begin to feel that.

Sorry for rambling, but it may help someone. :)

It's not just a matter of having the car glued to the tarmac, it's also about the acceleration out of the turn, the slide into it, the inertia from turn to turn. Without any engine mods at all, just from tuning suspension and gearing I can take a ton of seconds off a lap time. I don't think it would make me a better racer at all, it just gets you used to one setup for every track and have to settle with the times you get with a **** car. The thing is, I don't want to be lazy with the tuning, if I wanted to be lazy with the tuning I'd go play NFSU, and such. You know, the games with no actual depth because you simply by a car, mod it, and take it to the track with no ability to make the car any better than it is straight from the garage. To me, that's what this game is all about. I'm going to keep going to get through this tourney, but it's the last tourney I join in Arcade Mode, that's for sure. I'd rather jump in and out of a garage all week and improve my times with every tweak and adjustment than sit on the track, racing for three hundred laps, getting faster little by little with the same damn handling just so I can race a 6 lap race. There's no point. I'm sure it'll show in my times but I literally went for five laps for qualifying and just did the race once, and I was much happier and less stressed than I was with rounds 1 & 2 in which I spent days and days trying to perfect my racing on each track with a car that I hated to drive. I'm done with it, I've been so close to just quitting this thing altogether but I just don't want to chump out of it.

Oh yes, and for your response Z, I appreciate the advice and such. But I'm very experience with racing lines and how to choose them. I know exactly what you mean by driving in straight lines, my problem with the F1 car is that when I find that line (at least in Arcade mode) right when I line it up and go to enter the turn the front end slides and in my attempt to correct it the fu(king rear end lets go. WTF!!! It drives me nuts! But it just seems that no matter what I do, it just isn't consistent. In my F1 car in GT mode, I adjust it to every track, I don't just use a default setting and go with it. I change the rear differential setting, all of the gearing manually, I tweak the suspension little by little, adjust the down force, and most importantly the brakes. I don't use TCS in GT mode, and it handles nothing like no TCS in Arcade mode. It's just not something I want to learn. I'd rather spend the week trying to tune the car and race it even if I don't get the setup right, but I at least want the chance to get it right.

i really apolagise for being away im about to start doin the results now thank you for you patiance
