Yeah, buying my ticket tonight.

Those of you planning your "if I was rich" dreams from the other thread might want to buy one too. 5th largest MM jackpot of all time, cash option is still $255 million (minus taxes).

Drawing is Tuesday night.

Got $3 for tonight using the winnings from Fridays drawing. Doubt I'll win though, most I've ever won was $20.

Yeah. I think Jon Stewart had a thing where he said Romney has a couple hundred mil and earns something like 5 thousand a minute. That's why he can say something as ridiculous as, "I'll bet you ten thousand dollars." Or maybe it's a day. I don't know, but that's basically a free life right there.

And I remember watching some show about lottery winners. This guy won one of these huge mega jackpots and basically has to wait a week before he can buy any kind of new ferrari or porsche that comes out. In cash. :lol:
 
But imagine if you give all of the money to charities. The respect you'd get from people almost offsets the huge material loss, not to mention how rich you'd feel inside.

Lmao if you'd actually do that congratulations but it won't be happening from me.... I'm Canadian anyway and the biggest jackpots we are legally allowed to have here is $50 million. I have two charities I support and those two would get sizeable donations but after that I'm not so sure.

Maybe with that money you could buy a real GTR? ;)

80% of lottery winners end up bankrupt within a couple years because they spend the money on useless things and eventually go into debt........ and die.
 
Still, at least they had fun doing it.
 
I can have fun without spending a lot of money. I don't need a mansion, or expensive cars. Don't need a $2 million RV, etc, etc. If I won most of my money would go towards traveling, so technically I wouldn't need a house. :p

I would keep doing what I do, I'd buy a decent home and then live my life medium class. I don't need much. I would build up a movie collection in my basement and set up a home theater which can't cost more than $10,000... I would give 2 million or more to each of my friends and family members. I'd buy an old 80's sports car like a MB 190E, and I'd live the rest of my life with what I have left. I would also travel, a lot (which wouldn't affect my spendings too much because I would fly cheap flights [I feel adventurous that way]).

I think the reason people have troubled lives when they win the lottery is because they live like celebrities. They buy multimillion dollar homes and collections of useless cars, I would buy a home that would cost at the max $1,000,000. I think it's pretty difficult to spend 356 million unless you were a middle eastern oil baron.

I've played this like once. Are they still a dollar per line?

These days, I only play the local lotto(Megabucks), and only after the jackpot gets up to several million, as it starts at just one million.

Odds are astronomical eitherway, but I think Megabucks odds were significantly better from what I saw last.

I also play raffles, which Oregon Lottery play twice a year. Odds are 1:250,000 for the top prize of $1 Million.
 
i remember one guy on tv who won a lottery... he ended up buying like 8 mustangs and other crap and is now a car dealership salesman. what a sad story.

I thought this mega millions was California only?

No, it's multi-state. Oregon joined in I think just couple of years ago.

According to Oregon Lottery website, looks like nobody won, one ticket costs a dollar, drawing's on Tuesday & Friday?

I wasn't planning on it, I never play it, but with this being discussed on gtplanet, I guess I'll have to buy a couple. :D
