Hi,i have a PS3 Slim 160gb. I want to transfer GT5 photos from my PS3 to my PC using an USB Flash drive. I dont have one but my friend is giving me his Flash drive, but he says that his USB is full of Viruses and might be harmful for my PS3...
My question is: Does an infected USB Flash drive with viruses do any damage to PS3?

Thanks.

I doubt it would do anything to the PS3, as the viruses won't have been written for the PS3, I would be more worried about the PC. Just stick it in the PS3 first and format it and it should be fine.

Yeah, who cares about the PS3, why are you even considering using a known infected stick to put stuff on your PC?

(Unless, of course, your plan all along was to reformat it in the PS3 first . . .)

Here is what you do to do this.

1. Go to your couch and find 3 dollars in change.
2. Go to you nearest retail store (walmart, kmart, target, walgreens)
3. Buy a USB flash drive

Average Thumbdrive cost around 10 dollars.

It wont do anything to the PS3..at all, a virus needs to be written to attack a certain item it cannot just infect anything computer related. the PC on the other hand as stated before is in danger.

You'd still need to be careful. Your best option would be to buy a new USB, like said before. The $10 would be worth the ease and security. Otherwise you could be spending an hour re-formatting your PS3 and lose all your data and that SUCKS.
