Just a few questions about used cars. I searched and found that you cannot paint used cars after you purchase them, okay, that's fine.
But what I would like to know, is, are all used cars available to purchase? Or do only some cars show up at a time, and you have to keep going back to see if the car you want is there?
I have never played GT2, so I am unfamiliar in how that worked, and would just like to know how it works in GT4, thanks :)
 
Dunno the order, but I think they do change after a set number of days (I think Race Idiot said it was 7 game days??)
 
They come and go, and their colours might change the next time you check. Many of the new cars are available in used, but not all of them as far as I know (I check it regularly for updates to add cars to the used gallery).

From what i can work out from reading the other threads (please correct me if i'm wrong anyone!) - The used car list changes 'stock' every 7 (game) days, rotating after 699 (game) days, ie the list goes back to how it was on day 1 when you get to day 700. In other words there are 10 different used car lists in constant rotation.
 
Every seven days, the cars change. In GT3, it was every 13 days, or so. But, if we go back to original list at day 700, that means there is 100 different car lists, not 10. I wonder, can anybody with the game list the different cars other than what has already been posted?

I read that a Camaro would be available, but the used car list never had one listed. I hope one is available after the first seven days.

What do you mean the cars changed every 13 days in GT3? We didn't have used cars in GT3, do you mean the prize car colour changed every 13 days or something?

The garages on day 9 are identical to those on day 1. But they change on day 10. Try it...

Euhm, 700 divided by 7 is still 100 i believe
 
The used cars are separated to three categories. And they change after every race.. which is consider one day. The colors, you just have to keep checking till you get the color you like best for that particular car :)

Tip : Always keep certain amount of money to ensure you can get the car you want :)

This ALSO means that the cycle CANNOT restart on day 699 or 700, but must restart on day 701. This further means that the black LM cars cannot appear on Day 696 and disappear again on Day 703, but must appear on Day 694 and disappear on Day 701.

Yes, you are right. I have just reached day 701 and the list has reset (a pop-up appeared), all 4 black ones are there at 700, gone now. I managed to capture screens of the 4 black ones and had added them to the used cars gallery.
 
After searching, this is the closest topic I could find.

Has anyone compiled a "used car listing" yet? Or is it too huge that nobody has bothered? :confused:

A guy had posted an Excel file for the 100 weeks listings (although no colour information) in one of the threads here, I forgot where, may be you can try to search for it.
 
Someone else has stated that the used car list is NOT randomly generated, and that if someone (for instance) has had GT4 since Dec 28th and has completed the entire used car gallery cycles (someone stated there are 99 cycles), if he were to write down the cycles and what appeared on what day, he could literally hand that list over to someone who just bought GT4 and that new owner could map out exactly what would appear on what day, in what color, with what price tag, etc etc etc.

Randomly generated would mean that x car would not appear on x day in a mappable pattern. Although this doesn't take too much programming on PD's part, I don't think this is how they did it.

Yes.

Although my advice is to not waste your time. I'm doing it, and it's a real killer. I'm up to the 11th (of 99) rotation. I've not bothered with the colours after the third rotation as it's an absolute nightmare. I'll post the part-finished Excel file soon though and people can fill in what they know...

Here is a used car list created by a guy from a chinese forum (Jason from forum.racegame.org)
it shows all used car specs and appearance weeks
very useful for car collectors

Edit: No, I won't. His power ratings are WAY off. He's using the onscreen stats, not garage stats.
