I currently have one of the first fanatec Wheels the Porsche Turbo S. It is a really good wheel still and has pedals with the clutch. Was looking to upgrade to the thrustmaster TMX. After doing some review looks like I would just be doing a parallel switch. The only thing I would get with the TMX would be a warranty because of a new product. I have a guy wanting to sell me his thrustmaster TX Ferrari Italia wheel. I am really interested in it he has only had at 8 months and I would be able to switch out the wheels get upgraded pedals shifter and all that. I'm just on the fence of buying a used product. The TX would be a big upgrade and he's selling it to me for the same price as a new TMX. What's everyone's thoughts on this?

How much is each of them?

What devices are you using it with, Xbox, Playstation, PC?

You can use alternate pedals with the TMX too, as far as I'm aware. Just not rims.

For the money, obviously the TX is the far superior device with more FFB power, less resistance, and higher quality materials. But it's still a gamble buying second hand: on the one hand it's gone 8 months and so is likely to have encountered issues already if they were going to happen, on the other hand Thrustmaster have had lots of issues with QC and not having warranty is a risk (and I say this as an owner of far too many Thrustmaster wheel and HOTAS peripherals).

If you want the best FFB and don't mind taking a chance, then the TX is better. If you want to have that warranty then I'd suggest either grabbing a TMX or saving up and getting a TX in whatever sale hits next.
