User Title...

Ok I've searched and found more than 5 threads concerning the user titles but they all described the "disappearance" of the User Title option from their profile.

I have another problem. If I type a special character like § or ╖ or ← at the beginning works fine [as you can see in my user title] but if I type it in the end it shows $989#$ or something like this. Even if I put a space in the end or type letters. What's going on?

Hmmm, seems very strange but unfortunately I can't really figure out what would be causing that. :(

Are you sure? Just to let you know, I still see "►Superturismo&#9658" in your title.

"&#9658" is the code or whatever for that little triangular bullet, so it does sort of make sense. I can't see a way why it's doing it either, though. The reason why adding a space afterwards didn't work is because vB chops any spaces that aren't between characters. Try adding a full stop or a dash to each end and see if it goes away.

There's a lot of odd stuff about this board though. Including the infamous problems with posts including this word:

The problem stopped now because I put two dashes in the right end like Jondot said. Anyway I will choose another [normal] character like | so this 'code' does not show up. 👍

I don't know if anyone can see special fonts or icons on my names...

The amg power bit below my name is flanked by 2 stars and the playstation 3 in my sig is in the playstation 3 font..... do people see that the way its meant to be?

Stars, not question marks, are what I see in your title. Also, another person cannot see text formatted with a custom font (in your case, Homoarakhn), unless they have also downloaded and installed it on their computer.

You don't have the font installed is what that means. Its also why I just see an all caps Italics for his PLAYSTATION 3 bit in his sig.
Technically, the two squares he is seeing are most likely the result of his browser's inability to render those specific special characters, as you cannot specify a font inside of your user title. :)

I saw the PS3 font in your sig (1979), but now they're bold/italicised because I deleted some stuff.

Testing the word "Fetch"

EDIT: fetch
EDIT #2: Fetch
EDIT #3: Fetch.
EDIT #4: fetch.

EDIT #5: What's the problem?

Go fetch.

I'm fetching a newspaper.

EDIT: Ahoy! I get problems when I add this on:

I'll have to fetch a cookie to whoever fixed this.

The only reason it works is that I added in hidden bold tags.

Thankyou for the quick replies, now I know what people see on their side, :) 👍

I think the problem is having spaces on both ends of "fetch." Any punctuation (or line break in the case of Perfect Balance's first edit) eliminates the problem, apparently.

Wait, what's the deal with "fetch"? I'm not following. Is it a "VB has trouble recognizing the word" kind of problem, or a "type it 3 times in front of a mirror and PS comes to kill you" type problem?

fetch
fetch
fetch

...

Make a post that uses "fetch" in a sentence without quotes (in other words, with two spaces on either side of it). No line breaks either (as you just did with those three).

Also, check out this thread and this one for the backstory.
