Since i don't have a wheel, so i just drifting with a controller
i use the stick more carefully so the drifts can be great too!:)

It's not necessarily "better", but a wheel definitely is more convenient.

I have a buddy who was all controller and could knock out a lot of our community in tandems (speed+angle wise)

a wheel is alot harder than a controller but once you get use to it you can do alot of things that you cant do on a controller. For instance you can have better speed, control, fluent drifts, and its also more fun than a controller.

I have the G27 wheel an you can't say your a great drifter if you can't drift with a wheel because it's totally different,it's very easy to drift with a controller

Just to let you know...
to turn front wheels completely on G25 is 1 + 1/2 turns.
to turn front wheels completely on DS3 is 1cm movement with your thumb.

So do people have to go out and spend $200 bucks on a controller for one good game to be a good drifter/gt5 racer? Also, are all the tops guys on the leaderboards using wheels?

Been staring at my G27 since the first day the game came out LOL.

I contemplated for a few weeks about what I should do for mounting the wheel and when I decided that it would just be more convenient to spend the extra money to buy a stand, they ended up having a huge backorder due to GT5 :P (wheelstandpro)

Should be sometime in January I'm hoping; any way, I know the wheel will be better because it gives a better feel with your car, the feedback on the G27 is just unreal.

Just make sure you have a good setup, something comfortable yet sturdy so you can focus on the road and not whether the wheel is going to stay in place lol.
