is there a chance it will be in GT4? it would be nice to have both us and jspec models in the game to compare. just like in GT3 with the Integra R and NSX models.

👍

Sorry but you're wrong, Us STI can have both BBS gold rims and BBS grey rims.

And talk about a non-related post to the topic !

Bigger engine eh? wondered what the difference was :)

Still I guess bigger engine size for US spec was to be expected ;)

I thought technically they are the same car? It Should be in regardless, why not, it was there in the E3 Version of GT4,and probably Prologue as well... :trouble:

The US-spec Impreza WRX STi gets a 300hp 3.0L Flat-4. The European and Japanese-spec WRX STi gets a 280hp 2.5L Flat-4.

I know that it can have different ones but whenever I see a Impreza it always has gold rims.

I stand corrected:

The Japanese and European '04 Impreza WRX STi has a 280hp turbocharged 2.0L Flat-4

The American '04 Impreza WRX STi has a 300hp turbocharged 2.5L Flat-4

Other then that both cars are identical. I believe the point originally raised by this thread is wether nor not both specs will be available in GT4.

Now that's just bull.

WRX STi in here is 2.0 liter flat-4 giving out 265hp.

Wrong again, like stated above, the 2004 Impreza WRX STi has a 300hp turbocharged 2.5L Flat-4

280hp is the quoted amount the Euro and Japanese spec cars have, but that is due to the Japanese gentlemen's agreement. Unofficially it has more then that, I'm just not sure exactly what.

the JDM STi should be faster because it has less cats and the gas in j-land is better than what we have here in the US of A. but a 2.5 in a STi 👍

That has nothing at all to do with it. The fact of the matter is that the NA STi has a larger engine, which has more torque. Even if the JDM STi had 320hp, it will not have as much torque as the 2.5 STi. Torque is what gets you off the line and propells you forward, hp is only a measure of how fast the engine will reach that torque... It's nice to see for once we get a better car than the Japanese :trouble:

Now why would Subaru's official site lie about the horsepower?

It said 265hp there. (DIN hp that is).

Edit: And of course I was talking about the Euro model as I live in Europe...

The main reason for the .5L increase is to be able to make 300hp/300lb ft on 91 octane and pass emissions. No one really has any proof which one is faster STOCK.

This is why both versions should be included in GT4!!!

:p

This will be a good battle if all the WRX versions are on GT4:
-Impreza WRX 2.0 [GDA] (US)
-Impreza 2.5 RS [GC8] (US)
-WRX 2.5 STi (US)
-WRX STi (JDM)
-WRX STi Spec-C (JDM)

because it wasn't in the previouse GT games.

Majarvis u need to slow down and do some research. tests show that both the jdm evo and sti had over 320 hp back in the evo 7 days. now that its another "evolution," both cars should have well over that number. and the jdm sti has over 300 lb/ft of torque.
