v1.02 patch. Update via pc?

Ello all.
I've read that the latest patch fixes the User Race bgm issue.
I don't have the net at home however. Soooooo is it possible to download the patch onto a usb stick via my work pc, take the stick home and install it that way? Is this even possible?
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Can't patch manually, you'll have to get online with the ps3 somehow.

Briefly, what does putting the ps3 online involve exactly? ie, can i just plug it and off i go, or do i have to go through some kind of payment/registration/song-and-dance first?

just registration details, you dont have to put any payment down. takes about 5 minutes to do, but expect the os to be updated which takes ages!

So if i were to take it to a friend's house say, i could just plug it in, register, then (after the os update you mentioned) i can stick in the gt5 disc and download my patch? And presumably access to psn is free, as is downloading the patch?

I would wait a little while though, as there is supposedly a bigger update in the oven right now. Once it is out, patch away!

This. Otherwise you'll just be dragging your PS3 over to your friend's house again in a couple days.. or in a couple months rather, knowing PD and meeting deadlines.

I think there is a couple of smaller things that got added for offline play as well. Marks to indicate if you already have parts fitted in tuning shop and the likely opponents button at the races IIRC

To be honest I just wanna have the user race bgm issue fixed. I'm not really fussed about other stuff. The game plays just fine for my needs. I'll never take it online for multiplayer shenanegans, so unless this future big update your talking about has some kind of secret awesomeness, I'll just patch tomorrow so i can get my race bgm working. I'm easily pleased. Lol.

Yeah, there's apparantly a fix in there for the user race bgm problems. At present the user playlist doesn't randomize like the in-game one.

i dont have an internet connection for my ps3. I have the retail version of the game that hasnt been ptched yet. Is it mandatory to patch the game to use dfgt wheel?????????
