V1.03 Handling on MR vehicles has improved.

since pd does not give us release notes it may mean nothing.

i believe the blurb in the news section is just speculation based on what some gtp members have observed.

or it may mean that the tire width bug (which affects mr more so since many come with staggered tires) has fixed MRs.

or it may mean PD 'fixed' this.

LOL.

testing now.

Praiano has been testing:

Ive tested some cars after the 1.03 but no big changes at all. Some MR cars like the 458 show a bit of understeer but nothing big. The McLaren MP4 stay on the perfect balance it had before update, the AUDI R8 LMS ULTRA (AUDI SPORT TEAM PHOENIX) '12 is bit safer when pushing hard on it but if you put the front tire on red white paint cutting over apex ,you can spin easy like before 1.03.

I just spent an hour tuning and testing the R8 LMS Ultra, it did improve slightly as mentioned above, at least now I can drive the car a little bit harder. It also seems that some tuning does help the problem ever so slightly compared to, you can't even tell if the suspension tuning did a thing before the patch. There is no margin of error driving the car though, once you hit a curb at the wrong angle or try to make minute steering adjustments mid corner due to mistake on entry you're in for a ride if not spinning out completely...

I tested for a couple hours with my various MR-S models and I see little or no improvement. I had them tuned to be pretty easy to drive fast and they seem to be pretty much the same after 1.03.

I've been tuning one of the Vauxhall/opel MR mini rockets for a week now off and on. I got to the point of frustration last week with it. I tried it this morning and noticed a little stiffness where I was having an issue post-apex. The car did change something. But because it did, I have to start all over with it. The tune it had was invalid.
now, what I'm trying to figure out, was this finding real? Or did I just imagine it because when I tested it I was LOOKING for something different.
Whatever it is, it isn't huge. Just enough to notice, or maybe I'm just hoping too hard, lol.

Are the people claiming the handling changed have aftermarket wheels installed pre 1.03? I tried my nsx last night and didn't notice any difference. Maybe it only changed certain cars? Has anyone timed their MR cars?

Ok so all this is about is fixing the wheel glitch and MR cars didn't actually change unless you had aftermarket wheels installed pre 1.03.

The MR handling issue was a separate issue. Most pronounced in the R8 LMS Ultra '12.

I found adding camber to the Lotus Europa helped where it seemed to have 0 effect earlier as I recall. Much more reliable @ 2/1.5 this time around.

All i know is that since 1.03 i can now get the Pagani Hyurah...huyrah...highya...(whatever, stupid name, sounds like someone being sick!) around Suzuka without spinning on every damn corner. Not sure if it's the car that's changed or if it's to do with the tyre width issue or if i'm just doing better than the last time i tried it but pre 1.03 i just could not keep that thing pointing the right way whereas now i can. Could be psyco-sematic i guess and PD have just used the placebo effect but i'm sure something has changed. Also tuning the suspension previously had little to no effect on it and now it does seem to alter it's characteristics. Using one of the tunes on here before the update did little to change the cars handling whereas now, with the suspension setup from the tune in place, it feels totally different from stock (and so it bloody should too!). I tried a couple of other MR cars i have previously been struggling to drive and they seem improved as well. They are still mid engined cars and do still bite but they no longer feel like they are on shopping trolley wheels.
