EDIT: I just run the races today and was fairly pleased with the results. Surprisingly managed not to get any drive-through penalties in both races but i'm guessing I was close to recieving one.
TIP: Try racing Class 2 before Class 1 just to get used to the track. Also, Class 1 cars have much better brakes than Class 2 cars (which I found out in a practice run - I tried braking at the same spot as I did in the Class 1 car at a tight corner in the Class 2 car and ended up hitting the wall).

What Tyre wear setting (None, Mild, or Strong)? Sorry If this is a stupid question. I'm a Rookie. :)

The tire wear setting that is to be used is Strong. I just forgot to mention that in the first post:dopey:.

Oh 🤬, I did a race last night on Mild tire wear.:ouch: At least I still have time to turn in the times.:D

Falcon's Fastest Lap: 1'30.363
GT "Stiggo": 1'50.536

You'd best watch out...
Cause 60 and 02...
Are Comin' For YOU...

That was a great race. Loved it.

Greetings from the PORT racing team...

TheStig13 - Nice idea of yours in requiring a pit stop! It forces us to have a pit stop strategy and depending upon the difficulty level, the other competition comes into play again.

Quite an enjoyable race the first time out in my Commodore. Best lap so far is a 1.49.185. Its crazy how the Commodore hits the rev-limiter on the downhill steps.

Does anyone have a case of Foster's that they would be willing to part with? The stores near our hotel are all sold out, and I would like to reward my pit crew with some local suds for a job well done.

G'Day all,
I will be making some time to do this during breaks in the "V8 SuperCars Bathurst 1000" this sunday ( Oz time). Hope wherever you are you get the chance to watch at least some of it.

Dont bother with Fosters :yuck: get some proper Beer ie Cascade or Boags , both excellent Tassie brews.

Enjoy.

The pit stop idea was not mine, it is actually a rule in the real V8 Supercars Series. This takes even more significance in sprint races as there is one set of soft tyres for use over a race weekend (or two races).

Just finished up the race then and I'm pretty happy with the results. Best lap was 1.48.519. I reckon I could've pushed it a bit further but I would've ended up the wall. Suprisingly didn't get any drive through penalties although I was close to on more than a few occassions. I'm PM'ing my results to you (TheStig13) in a minute. Can't wait for the next round. :)

I might of had the fastest Class 2 time posted ,but I had a pit run-in.:indiff:
I was going on momentum because that race had a Pagani a Spyker,AC,Mercedes, and another car. (I forgot what it was) Anyways, I was going with the whole pack on that 172 pt. race. I had problems passing the first two racers then, I had passed the 3rd racer on the 4th lap. Then, the trouble began.:ouch: I had closed a 2 sec. gap on the MB I was following when on the corners after the main straight I had trail braked the Mercedes and I hit it on the 5th lap with no pitstop yet! That really messed up this race I might do it over.

Fueled with Boags, I've been able to run a 1.48.412 lap. So I'm nicely sandwiched by Pitracer100 and Cougar23! Ran at difficulty level 8. I will try again at level 9 since the other cars got in my way a little. Ran two nice clean races, and then on a third race, pushed too hard and got the "forced pit entry" penalty. Great car and track combination.

...Not for long when Cougar's at the track. I Just re-run the race and managed to pull this lap out of nowhere. A 1.47.881 on the third lap.:):sly::dopey:
It took me a while of practicing the track but I got there eventually and I bet quite a few of you could top that lap.The tip is...Listen to Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast and your FPV will turn into a beast:sly: Unless your driving a commodore that is. Over here we call them 'paddock bashers'. 💡 :) Nah only joking. I'm starting to like this series more and more. I'm sending you my full details now The Stig13. Good Luck everone. 👍 *Sighs* This is going to be a long close Season *Sighs*

'Mate' I was going off pure momentum in that FPV.:) I can get way faster I also closed a 3sec. gap on a mercedes with 400+ HP. Until I made the mistake of trail braking a freakin Mercedes that is heavier that 3.5 half ton men.:dunce:

Cougar23 -
I would not get too comfortable in your FPV. My Commodore is really smoking now. I've got it surfing down the waves, or at least down the hills.:)

After a switch to "Cascade" fuel, I've run a 1.47.895

Ooh that's close. :) As I said..."I bet quite a few of you could top that lap" and it looks to me like it's gonna happen soon. :) Good Luck Everyone. And I like your Humour GTsail290.. 'After a switch to "cascade" Fuel...' That bit really cracked me up. 👍:cheers:

And the Class 1 ECM Ford is currently down with trouble, rumor has it with a Rear Wheel Oiling Device Component, which means that the team must fix it or the car will lock up the rear tires from friction. It is rumored that a friend of the car's driver will fix it tomorrow morning, in time for the race.

*Post entirely made up, but note the bold letters.

If you are suffering from tire lockup, I think its more likely that you need to replace your Bent Radical Attenuating Krylon Elliptical Solenoid. Take your Falcon to you nearby Ford dealer and have it checked.

Well, what a Race :bowdown:Those V8 Supercars at Mount Panorama certainly serve up some momentous Racing.
After 161 laps and you could cover the first half a dozen places with a line of the empty Beer bottles I drank watching it
( For those interested my fuel of choice was Boags Draught).

As for our Supercar battle at Seattle, excellent racing as well 👍.
I have a finish in the Bank but if I get some more spare time this week I might try and improve, but pretty happy so far.
AI @ 10 for 141 points.

Best Lap - 1 '28 . 617

^^No, when we lost the RWOD, the friction of the axle locks itself up. Although we have fixed the problem and added new brakes just in case, we are now heading out to the track.

I've just been reading through the GT5P forums (I can't wait until I can get a Ps3) and come across a thread about the transistion from Sixaxis to G25. I've been meaning to ask this for a while. I'm curious as to what everyone is using to drive (DS2 or Wheel)? I'm using a Logitech DFGT Wheel. Cheers Cougar23 :) (Oh and it looks like your going to come out on top at the end of Round 1 Pitracer100. :) I was going to go back and try the race again to see if I can get a better time but I've got a heap of studying to do. :( )

I'm using my G25, still trying to get accustomed to it for GT5. That thread is really good (if it's the one I'm thinking of, Synwraith's)

Well, I've been out of the loop for too long it seems, lucky I caught this thread today! I will be running the Camaro from now on, TheStig. 👍

School is finishing, so once that's over I'll have some more time till exams get a bit closer. Looking forward to a good season with you guys :)

(And TheStig, I just noticed your team is Ford Australia Racing Team.)

And the Class 1 ECM driver crashes on the downhill jumps on the 11th lap, chalk up a DNF for them!

I..... WON!!!!:D:) All drinks on me at the Space Needle and free burgers for miles see you guys at Round 2.

Nice Job Pitracer100!

I guess I got nipped at the line.:grumpy: Next time I will leave the beer cooler behind, though it fits nicely in the trunk.
