:odd: It's in Canada dude.. .know ur geography... :p j/k j/k

I say, MORE BEER! *Yes, I'm underage right now, but I won't be when the Olympics come!:D*

South Korea and Austria were also in the running. I'm at my wits end trying to figure out what issue might have made S. Korea lose. Truly, perplexing.

Winter Olympics PR... Winter..
The 2008 Summer Olympics will be held in Beijing

update: I just found this at sportsnet.ca

"Vancouver edged its South Korean rival 56-53 on the second ballot, with 55 needed to win. On the first ballot, Pyeongchang had 51 votes, just three short of victory. Vancouver was second with 40 and Salzburg third with 16."

Now, THAT is close...

Talentless, the reason South Korea lost was not because of the bid itself, but rather the location rotation the IOC uses. They try to go around the globe. Since 2008 is already in Asia*Beijing, China*, and 2006 is in Europe*Turino, Italy*, it was only logical to come to North America.

I will trust that is accurate, but I was being sarcastic. Just look up North from Soel (sp?) and you will get my drift.

hehe 2010 ...

That is like a zillion years away. Who knows what will have happened to the world by then? ;) Just think about it and then re-watch a couple of movies like the Matrix and Minority Report.

We'll all be looking at porn in VR with our super computers.

so i guess u can't count huh let's see it is 2003 right now if u do the math it is only 7 more years away now i don't know what planet u come from but that is far away from a zillion

Not exactly, I mean, I'm still young (18...) and I gotta study. So for me, one year further on is a great leap. Can't imagine where I'll be then (I can only hope for the best;)).

So 7 years in the future is a lot, I'll be 25 then (!). Plus we kinda live in an age where there are a lot of improvements and break-throughs so noone can really predict what the future will bring.

Who knows ;)
