You get idiots all over the world, location means nothing, the only thing that matters is the individual thats doing the spamming, nothing else needs to be in the discussion because a few members will take it personal even though they shouldn't.

Let's not turn this into a "Which side of the pond" is the most stupid. I'm fairly sure that we can agree that there's a lot of pathetic souls out there, unfortunately, in this day and age they have internet access.. 10 years ago they'd be out tipping tomb stones..

My "Like they need help with that" comment was merely a crack at the brits, taken at an open opportinuty, and should by no means at all be considered the slightest bit serious...

Taken - and returned - as intended :D

Besides, I know how stupid many British kids are, from personal (professional) experience.

I think we can see some of those stupid British kids on GTP...:P

Is it possible that the vandalism could be from the same person just using a dynamic IP?

Quite unfortunate but very true. I'm sure its a couple of 14 year olds bored at home and have decided to turn to online vandalism instead of walking the railtracks spray painting walls with names such as 'Tox' and 'Fake' :dunce: .

Possibly, it's not hard to change your IP.

It Isnt If Its Assigned By DHCP, But A Jump From 62.x.x.x To 86.x.x.x Means That There Is A high Chance Its 2 Diffrent People, Because Most DHCP's Assign IP's On A Range Like 62.x.x.1/254, Not 62/86.x.x.1. Unless Both Ip Ranges Are Own By The Same ISP.

I don't understand why people are doing it. It's not as though it can't be rectified in a matter of seconds, very easilly. These people must have very empty lives if they have nothing better to do than replace everything with stupid comments.

Jon.

Maybe the problem is they DON'T know that it can. They're sitting there, all empty headed snickering at ALL the trouble they've caused.. A little pop up window where they'd have to accept the changes they've made, together with a small note saying "your IP will never access the site again if you're posting poop - and that poop will be recitified in seconds afterwards anyway" might help..

Excellent point... not sure if it would stop them, but it would certainly take away some of the infantile pleasure that these idiots seem to get from defacing other people's work...

The only problem with that is that you are basically saying "go ahead and try". It may or may not work.

Yearh well.. As far as I see it, IF they're already adding Poop to the Wiki and doesn't get the Pop up, poop gets posted no matter what - Reault: Poop posted and Permanent IP bannanination.. The pop up would give them a chance to NOT post the poop....

Good point.

Scaring them with something like : Posting stupid comments will result in an IP ban or worse consequences.

They would probably be scared and not post anything.

So far, the Universe is winning."

^That says it all...

Check their talk pages (not those four specifically, but those of people whose edits I've reverted)... I have a play too.

I'm for the pop-up idea.

But, give them this message:

"Any wasteful, hateful, or belittling comments will be saved by the administrator, reported to your ISP, and reverted back to it's original state. Your IP is being recorded as you post. Keep this in mind."

And enforce it, or don't. Your choice.

🤬 ers. why would anyone be that stupid as to do such a thing. All i gotta say is whoever did this SHOULD BE DEALT WITH ACCORDINGLY Via a beatdown. Gay Turismo, they have no room to talk.

Thanks ALPHA, those IP's have been banned.

It really amazes me that some people have nothing better to do with their time but to falsify wiki entries.

hehe, a typical problem in all forms of engineering - as I say above my avatar, foolproof is an oxymoron. Nothing is ever fully idiot-proof because idiots can be so ingenious.

OK, I've more than had it with this. Anonymous edits and new Wiki user registrations have been disabled. All new accounts will have to be approved.

Apply to be a Guides Contributor Here thread
Users who already have an account in the Wiki will not have to re-apply, this is for new contributors only.
I think that answers your question. :)
