has anyone else seen this movie? its pretty damn crazy but it my favorite. theres like a million good lines in it, and the ending is great. what do you guys think about it?
I was refering to the typical, blockbuster, no plot, one liner filed, special effects extravaganza, Hollywood flick. I probably should have explained that first. Just because the director lives in Hollywood, doesn't make it a Hollywood Flick, in my definition.Originally posted by milefile
Vanilla Sky is a Hollywood flick.
Agreed. However, Hollywood movie, has come to mean more than where it's from. I explained above what my definition of it is. I have not met anyone yet, that didn't understand, and agree with that definition. There are good movies that come out of hollywood, but the majority, are just reused formulas.......I personally prefer more edgy original movies like: Jacobs Ladder, Adaptation, Requiem for a Dream, Pi, Dancer in the Dark, Memento, etc......You get the idea. I guess I'm just tired of the cheesy big blockbuster titles, filled with big name stars, spitting out one line catch frases, in a plot hole filled special effects extraveganza.Originally posted by GilesGuthrie
I thought it was really good. The ending opened up a whole new dimension to the plot itself. With that and Minority Report, Cruise has a pair of movies that are about more than just his smile.
wana b drifter: do you really think that Pulp Fiction is a brain movie? Seems pretty straightforward to me, although the distressed timeline can make it difficult for stupid people to follow.
And I believe the definition of "Hollywood" is to do with the origin of the finance.
Are you being sarcastic? It's really hard to tell sometimes.Originally posted by milefile
Wow I didn't realize you were so deep. The movies . . . I mean films . . . you watch prove it. I stand in awe.
