Vehicle length to add to databases

Well, after searching all of the different FAQs and lists and databases out there, I didn't seem to find any that mentioned a vehicle's length. There are a few races in the game that you have to be under a certain length in order to participate. Some of the choices may be really obvious, but after I listed them all out, some surprised me. After all, many coutries have different interpretations of what is considered a "compact" vehicle. :sly: I found almost 50 cars that can compete in the game for the Lightweight K Cup and about 170 vehicles that are considered compact!

Here's an Excel format file and a plain text file for those without Excel. (Sorry, it's not lined up in columns very well.):

Enjoy!

Oh, by the way, I am using the NA version of the game.

Ginetta G4 for the 3400 or less
toyota 7 (just do mission hall) for the 4000 or less

Trouble is you win the Ginetta in the under 3400 race. Is it available to buy and, if so, why buy a car you are about to win?
The Toyota 7 is just WAY overkill for the under 4000 race.

There are so many other cars that qualify, why would you use these?

BTW the list is a great idea. Thanks also for adding NA/T/SC. Why they made that so hard to find is a mistery to me. 👎

If I may, I'd like to borrow this and incorporate it into a couple of my own databases. I'll have to check some numbers, because PD changed quite a few odd little stats between NTSC/J and PAL (all the MX-5s have different weights, to name but one), but I can't imagine there being (m)any differences.

Please do use the data. I made the list just because I wanted to know how many times I could use different vehicles for each race. My original intent was to hope that length could be added to JKRobby's databases, since it seemed like a bunch of people wanted it and I used those filters quite often. So public the data is, and public it should be used. If anyone wants to use the data, please do so. It only adds to the experience. If you want to give me credit, so be it. If not, I'll chase you down one day. :sly:

One of these days I will get around to adding all of the maximum/minimum amounts for power and weight also. I am not that ambitious just yet though...

Oh, and one clarification...I have a column with the letter "C" appearing for any vehicle that can not be sold, only gotten rid of. It started as a designation for concept, but I expanded it so I could keep track of what would get me any credits.

Hey SilverEcplise is this for the NA release? I only have 721 cars in my list and you've got 735. My list might be off but I was just checking.

It is for the NA release. I have some extra lines on there. My "deluxe" version has extra entries for vehicles that can be obtained both as new/prize and used, since they have different HP values (I just have not added all of those USED HP values yet. I think I just copied the NEW values for now. Sorry 'bout that). This version is stripped down, but I forgot to strip out the dupes. Oops. Oh, and I also have the "black beauties" and black F1 in there as well since they seem to be different from their painted counterparts. I might post my deluxe version later for comparison.

Data -> Sort.

Thanks for pulling together this list! Much better than blindly paging through the garage guessing at which cars were shorter than X mm...

Thanks a lot SilverEclipse , it will be helpful .
Can you tell me how you managed to do it ? Do you own every car in the game ? Did you search through every manufacturer and used car list ?

I would like to add a column to the database including the engine displacement :

I know that it's not a requirement for any race in the game , but that's how cars are usually divided in real rally racing and touring cars championchip ( N1, N2, N3 ... up to WRC )

I agree. Displacement would be a welcome addition to any of the existing vehicle databases. I believe that in order to be considered a true K car in the real world, your displacement had to be under a certain amount. But in the game it is only a length regulation. If anyone wants to add displacement, or any other data, feel free to do so and post. As I said earlier, I don't have the ambition to do much more at this point as I am too busy actually playing the game! :)

Oh, and I actually used a GameShark code that gives you one of every car in the game to make this database when the game first came out. But for the black beauties, I waited for them to show up in the used lots, since that is just a matter of waiting for the right time. It's the only time I really have used a cheat for this game, since it is so easy to get good cars and bunches of cash from just playing or letting B-Spec Bob do his thing.

Data -> Sort.

But you have to realize it sorts only those columns and rows that are selected. If you just sort the column you want it will no longer match up with the rest of the columns if you are not careful.
