I am so thrilled. I just won Vettel Nur. Only Suzu to go. I found a way for you to save up to 2 seconds. And it's not cheating!

If you are on a PAD, and just can't cut that extra few seconds, here is the trick:

1-Connect your DS3/Sixaxis USB cable. Not only it eliminates the Lag, making it easy to drive, it's also a bit faster switching from braking to acceleration. You will notice you can gain 1 to 2 seconds! This is because wireless is much slower than cable. I was always doing 1:05.000 laps on Nur, for a long time. One day, when I connected the cable, I started doing laps of 2:04:000 easily.

This is now my preferences, but it can help you:
2-AT, Anti Skid Force=on, ABS=10, Sensitivity=+7, all other aids off.

3-Use the camera where you can only see a bit of the front of your car.

4-If possible, use 3D settings to 10. It's much easier to judge when to start turning.

5-Vettel's shadow should be off. It stresses me. You can also turn off the times, map, etc...

And good luck.

I might try it later as im a pad user..and by 3D set to 10 did you mean this can be only applied to 3D tv?

I never knew there was a controller lag. Thanks for telling this! Is it apparent on other PS3 games?

wow I thought the wireless on the ps3 was pretty good. Does anyone have a video showing the delay response between usb and wireless?

Yeah, if you have a 3D TV, use it. It helped me.

About the wireless lag, I can't prove anything. I just saw the difference on the times. Actually, you can't feel the lag, and I'm not seeing it affecting you on any car other than the X2010/11.

is abs 10 the best setting for the x2010? I thought anything more than 1 would make braking slower.

input lag is always noticeable, at least for people who played fast games in the golden era of pc gaming, or just played guitar hero :P.
Wireless controllers and lcd screens are terrible on that aspect really.

I too would agree with the OP, but I couldn't offer any real proof either. I have always thought there was a noticable difference, and you can see it on other games... (Shift 2 especially). Be forewarned though, just like plugging your car in during winter, once you start, you won't be able to stop. Also, try to limit your USB extension cable to 2m or less. I started out with a 3m cable and it's basically the same as the wireless. As for the ABS on 10, yes it will make braking slower, but it gives more grip on cornering.

Have a good one...

If you care about input lag then yes play in game mode or a monitor and plug in the wire. Wireless lag varies person to person as people have different equipment and surroundings in their home.

For me wireless is fine. I find setting ABS a little lower gave me more reliably lower times.
