I know, it's another thread, but I'm stuck on golding the X1 Challenge at Suzuka. I haven't even managed silver yet. So far my best time is just under 2 minutes 12 seconds. My regular times are about 12 and a half. I'll tell you my strategy.

Start: Accelerate through the first half of corner 1, brake into third gear+ exit.
for the next few corners I just use throttle control and light braking. Now onto a small straight. I'm in 6th gear, brake a little into the next corner and then 3rd/2nd gear for the following corner. When I reach 5th gear, I quickly brake into first and glide round the corner. Now through the bend. I brake into 4th gear, accelerate, and then go into 3rd/4th gear. Straight, small corner, then another straight. I brake to 1st a few seconds after the indicator tells me to, I glide through the corner, and accelerate out. The lap is about 2 minutes 5 seconds and 1/2. Not good enough. On the second lap I usually mess up on the first corner, or have to brake to second instead of third.

I used Manual Transmission, and Skid Recovery. I changed brake balance on the front and rear brakes to 10.

Please help, it's driving me extremely crazy, so much I'm scared I'll break my wheel :scared:

I probably need to improve the first sharp corner, the 1st corner on the 2nd lap, and the final corner.

Just keep practising it. For the first corner, flat through the first part, then brake for the second bit. Then flat through the Esses, next braking zone is the corner just before going under the bridge. Then rest of it is pretty self explanatory. Just keep pushing the boundaries, and try turning the HUD and map off, that helped me a lot. :)

It seems like you're not pushing hard enough. Use less braking and don't follow that indicator. You really need to be a gear or two higher than what the indicator says. Try watching YouTube videos for the perfect line.

Thanks for the tips! If anyone has any more feel free to post!

i heard about a glitch for the vettel challenge , dont know if it works but you can try it
search it on google , it Will help you further
i haven't done it because i dind wanted to cheat ;)

To do the glitch you must delete all of your gears and update cars.

I'm no tuning expert but brake balance set to 10 on the front and back seems a bit much.

Don't wanna cheat. Should I put 5 on the front brakes and 10 on the rear to slide the car out more?

The annoying thing is, I nearly got a silver or even gold time, but right on the last corner the xmb menu came up. Stupid cheap DFGT buttons, already broke the ra button

I HATE when that happens. Doesn't give you the courtesy to pause the game like every other game when you accidentally hit it.

No skid recovery + fast steering = Gold + lot of fun

It's physics... :D Seriously, it's much easier to Gold it if you let the car slide, specially right before crossing end of S1 line or right after (hairpin).

Good luck mate, I managed to get it without modifying brakes, it's not that important ;)

Just got silver (time: 2:10:924) and won... A black X2010. Could be better, but oh well. I'll try turning SRF off, does it help with the Esses? I can't go through them full throttle.

Edit: I tried it without SRF, didn't improve. Switched to AT now.

SRF on, ABS on, everything else off.
Just push the car to the limit, which is beyond where you think it is ;)
Try taking some corners full speed; if you hit the apex right there is no need for breaking in some corners. This saves you a lot of time.
My hardest part was the final chicane, just had to throw the car in there ;)
Good luck!

Bump

Very close now, about 150 milliseconds off gold, but took a short break and started getting worse. Having a break for 2 hrs, will be better if I'm not worn out.

TOP TIP: If you're getting really frustrated take a break!

Edit: JUST DONE IT! Happily greeted by the Colin McRae Rally 3 Menu Music lol... Another tip, turn off the ghost car if you're doing well, it will distract you or make you excited.

I leave ABS on so you can push the breakes hard withouth your wheels spinning.

The ghost car can get you excited indeed :sly:

yep, delete the patches , then re-install them untill 1.10
then search how to do it 💡

No, if you dont delete gears and update cars, the game wont load the GT mode, i've tried it yesterday

Am I one of the youngest people to get all gold on this (I'm 13)?
