I hat this challenge. My best time its 2:08.217 on Nurburgring. I only need this gold. i hate this. Its so fustrating. Im playing this track for a month. I give a PSN Game (Under Siege) to the person who made this gold for me. I cant do better, im using a controller. If someone one have a wheeler and can do for me this gold, please tell me. I will give you the PSN Game.

Take a break for a week or two, you make real improvements when you are away from something. This is especially important if you feel maxed out right now. You will come back and find it much easier than before once you get in a groove.

But you are stressing yourself and getting to the point of frustration. Sure you make improvements but with any skill, it is when you are away that you become truly better. You need many reptitions then a break period. You have the repitions, now you need the break.

Im for a month on this track. I now all the corners of the track. And im doing this splits:
19:800
34:0xx
49:100

Sometimes i can do 48:900, all this on the 1st lap. But i cant do a 1st lap under 1:04. Never. If i have a wheel, i golded this easy.

I remember trying for 34.1 by that 2nd split, and sometimes it'd be as low as 33.9, but i'd always mess those runs up. The gold run for me was a 1:04.5XX 1st lap, followed by a 1:03.1XX on lap two! Best Nurb lap i've ever heard of... lap 2 splits were as follows(if i remember correctly, was sooo excited i forgot to save replay): 19.3XX, 33.3XX, 48.1XX... so a smokin' lap two will get you gold, even if you run anything < 1:04.700 on lap one. Grand Total Time was 2:07.708. Just keep truckin, til you know you've all but eliminated a gold run.

Finally gold on Suzuka after hundreds of attempts! Obtained Platinum trophy :-)

But I had 1st lap 1:03.1xx and 2nd 1:04.5xx with total of 2:07.7xx.

I know how you're feeling, I've been there. 5 days of playing nothing but Vettel challenge on Nurburgring GP, waking up in the morning thinking: "will I make it?", I was even dreaming about it. My whole GT5 experience was down to that one track and that one car.
Finally, after 5 days (6, I took 1 day break) & 3000km the moment of relief has come.
What can I say, it's doable but extremly nervewrecking.

Platinum now means nothing because glitching is actively encouraged by certain members in this forum and allowed to be published by GTPlanet, hence why this thread and similar still exist. The only reason for this is because so many people out there do not have the skill to complete GT5 without cheating. It just discredits the game. Hopefully the next update will patch the glitching in this event.

They don't have to patch the holes, they have to patch the Vettel Challenge! The disadvantage of a DS3 compared to a wheel for this challenge is just a very bad bad joke.

i always say that, but people dont agree with me. I now people using a wheel have more advantage of the people using a Controller. So, PD must change that event for the people who play with a controller. I know we can do the Vettel Event with a controller.
And another one, why they put a Prototype car in a event and that times arent real? The GT-R record on Nurburgring its real, but this 3 times on Vettel Challenge, Vettel dont make that times because he dont drive that car, because its impossible a human drive that car on the real life. And this game is "The Real Driving Simulator"...

People are allowed to play the game how they see fit, some people may enjoy trying to cheat the game, others enjoy putting in the hard work. It's their game and they can play it how they like, so long as it does not ruin other peoples enjoyment of playing the game. In this instance people glitching and getting a trophy or a car does not ruin other peoples enjoyment, it's not as if people can see who does and does not have the trophy, unless they are on your friends list. However, if people were cheating in online multiplayer, then it is ruining other peoples enjoyment and should be discouraged.

I totally agree!
Why does GTP encourage glitching is beyond my comprehension.
I golded Vettel without glitching (used the Suzuka glitch but got gold legit too after I golded Nurburgring).
Community is already sad - I mean, people willing to delete their game data and waste 1h just because of 1 car is funny proof how ****ed up this community is.
Same goes for Vettel, xp glitch and trading.
I don't encourage but it's something I or anyone can't fight with. The only people who can fight with this are the GTP staff members but they don't, so that's why we have all of the things I've mentioned above.

The X2010 is a fantasy car, you have to adapt your driving technique and learn how to drive the car fast. If you hate it, no ones forcing you to do it.

every thing else: Off!

I'm so frustrated with Nurburgring challenge (I drive so good and on the chicane, BOOM, and if I actually can go throw the chicane, next last chicane BOOM!!!) BTW BOOM = Crash and DQ I already have silver, and drive with DS3, and have other stuff to do so I feel that I deserve gold Time to glitch.
Also, @ Max Cavalera - 👍 - GTA without cheats isn't GTA for example.

This 👍 who cares if some self righteous people say we're are ruining there game, that picture of the baby pretty much sums up how I feel about it.

Back on topic I did a legitimate bronze on the challenge last night, amzingly enough my controller is still intact. Anyone who can gold them is either really good or really crazy or maybe a little bit of both.

In GTA - offline cheating doesn't affect others.
In GT5 it does, you can get Platinum and brag even though you didn't deserve it.
Platinum's worthless now, I didn't get Platinum just for bragging, I got Platinum because I love this game.
Yes, initially I used Suzuka glitch, hell, if it wasn't discovered I wouldn't have touched the Vettel Challenge.
Thank you Suzuka glitch, for bringing me back to Vettel and forcing me to get all golds using sixaxis.
Afterwards (after Nurburgring) I tried Suzuka legit - gold in 2h.
I've gotten good with Vettel, all because of one glitch.
But what the f...now? You can glitch Nurburgring too? Unfair, just unfair to the people who got it legit.
But hey, X2010 Prototype was always worthless.

It does because of the Platinum? How? Does the Platinum gives you a special boost online, like nitrous or something? It's their fault doing this psychotic thing in the first place, so psychotic measures are required
