I usually play GT6 on a 32" Sharp TV, but yesterday I tried it out on a 55" Samsung 3D TV. When the PS3 started, it asked me if I could see the screen (if not, it would revert settings in 30 seconds.) and I said yes.

After I switch back to the small TV, the TV says the signal from the PS3 is incompatible, even if I turn it on and wait 30 seconds hoping it will automatically change settings.

I am unsure what video output settings I need to revert. Does anyone know?

My guess is that the Sharp can't do 1080p, but the Samsung can. Hook it up to the Samsung again and change max resolution on the PS3 (in display settings) to 480p (just to cover all bases). Go back to the Sharp and you should be able to see an image. You can then do the display settings again. It will identify the max resolution of the tv.

I'm going to assume that you're using HDMI for both tvs, and assuming that ultimate setting for the Sharp will end up being 720p.

Ok, I saw that this forum was mostly about racing wheels, but I overlooked C&T and didn't know where else to post.

You were right, I'm back in action. Thanks!

For future reference, if you press and hold the power button while turning it on until it beeps I think 3 times, it's resets the display settings so that it will re-detect the display, in case you don't have the screen you last connected it to handy. I think it also resets the sound as well so you have to reset that, too. But it will get you out of a bind.
