I started out using the chase cam but I felt disconnected and a little odd so I started using the cockpit cam and it is much more fun to drive but my lap times are a good 1 to 1.5 seconds slower... but they are getting better. If I have to choose, I would rather use the cockpit view and have worse lap times just for pure enjoyment. The bumper and hood views look odd to me so I have not tried those at all.

I am trying to get a gauge on the best view mode, what mode do you use and why?

Cockpit all the way but it seems to be slower in it ....so what .

Cockpit all the way. Only time I use bumper is when I am driving one of the cars that don't feature one. Chase cam is an absolute no no for me.

Cockpit, I find it the most fun way to drive

For race I use bumper.
For fun, cockpit (without HUD).
To enjoy the landscape, hood (without HUD).
And chase cam to remember the old days.

I'm always varying.

Cockpit with adjusted visibility for single player stuff and bumper for online but I'm trying to get used to bonnet view to place the car a bit better. Handy for hot lapping as the ghost doesn't obscure the way ahead but weaning myself off the rear view mirror is a little scary. It's tough to keep an eye on the radar in close battles.
