As some of you know, I am a huge fan of vintage cars, having co-founded the Vintage Tuning Garage, and being an active member in the Vintage Race Club, and the thought occurred to me that I have not seen a real vintage series aside from the occasional single make and endurance group, so after a series of talks with various other drivers I decided to see about putting together an SCCA style race group.

The ideas goes as follows:
430-450pp (Undecided, trying to find the perfect balance between smaller cars and the larger muscle cars)
RH or RM tires (To emulate the racing slicks allowed in standard production race series)
Satruday races (Presumably)
And Pre-1985 only.
I am working on a good list of cars to create a fair pool, and hopefully a lot of diversity within the field.

The cars I am currently looking at are
BMW 2002
Jaguar E-Type
Lotus Elan
Lotus Europa
Corvette C2
Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale
Ginetta G4
Pontiac Tempest Le Mans GTO
Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA 1600
Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Duetto
Nissan Fairlady 2000
Chevrolet Camaro SS
Chevrolet Camaro Z28
Honda 1300 Coupe 9 S
Marcos Mini Marcos GT
Ford Mustang Mach 1
Nissan 240ZG
Lancia STRATOS
Alpine A110 1600S
Alpine A310 1600VE
Isuzu Bellett

Please write back and tell me your thoughts and give suggestions if you have them.

As you already know, I'm in.

I'd be up for it, sounds good.

Also, there's an Interest Check forum now, I think. Not sure if that would help recruit or not.

Sounds interesting, and saturday is perfect

How about the Isuzu Bellett?

I saw that after I posted =\
I kinda got thrown off by this new set up.

I have never driven that car myself. I may have to look into it and give it a go.

And Btw, any of you who are interested in helping cull the list please add me (JLawrence_) and we can hop into a lobby.

Count me in!

Oh yea, I want some of this!

Come on JL you know im interested, i might give the Stratos a try because its so dam difficult. I love a good challenge and its MR so ill be out accelerating everyone and cornering sharper than most cars ;)

JL- "I saw that after I posted =\

I believe you can move the thread over to the 'Interset Check' forum yourself by using 'thread tools', if it would help.:)

That may only work if your premium though, not really sure.:dunce:

A couple of us tried driving the Stratos last night, and man was that thing a monster. I honestly just couldn't find anything that would make it settle down in the corners. I would put that in a class above the GT350. I am glad to see the interest here though. Looks like just 6 more people would give this a full field.

With Sail to help provide the cars I can't find I should have a pretty comprehensive list of cars to choose from in the next week or so, so we can get this show on the road, and discuss exactly how to run it.

If it's pre-1985, then why not try the Golf GTI I, Audi Quattro and AE86. Possibly the Lancer EX Turbo. And the SambaBus  Maybe try the Giulia TZ2 but put the restriction for PP lower for that.

I'm interested for sure. Don't use these oldies enough. Sat. is great. Early evening??

I haven't ever gotten much into 80's cars so none of them came to mind immediately, but I just picked up an 84 Renault and a 81(?) Ford to try. I'm totally up for suggestions as to other cars to run, I'm all about diversity. I just want them when set to specs to run evenly. As of now I've been doing everything at 440 with RMs because that is the max that I figure we may run.

Presumably. I'd like to come up with as good a compromise as possible for the different time zones.

hello I am interested depends the time

Sounds good although I see getting such a diverse range of cars to be competitive as a bit of a challenge! Saturdays however are not great for me as my kids own the ps3. However depending on what time you run with I might manage a few races. Count me in but best to make me a reserve if you get a load of interest.

We'd love to have ya Jack!
I'm thinking the races are gonna be Brit friendly

Honda S500 and the old Nissan Skylines, too.

I do like the Skylines. They drive like their on rails.
Have you done any testing of the cars yourself? I've been running Trial Mt and with the majority of the cars I've been getting between 1:34 and 1:36. Thats about what we're shooting for.

Whats the status on this?

I have thus far been through 8 cars, and cut out two for being too quick to compete with. I need to get a hold of an untuned Ginetta and a couple others on the list, but there is definite progress being made, and like I said, if you're up for helping it'd be much appreciated.

I would put a launch date on this being official within two weeks provided I can get all the cars I need.

Current Cars:
BMW 2002
Lotus Elan
Lotus Europa
Corvette C2
Marcos Mini Marcos GT
Ford RS2000
Renault S Turbo

I had it tuned perfect then my PSN cut out so I lost it.

Been looking for a series to join since the network came back up, this sounds good since it will be on Saturday so count me in.

I'll come help out, I forgot to add you on PSN.. I'm free most saturdays in the evening and at night, July is a really busy month for me this year..

Thatd be great.
Just send me a message when you'd like to open a lobby and we'll get going.

What cars have you taken off the list so far?

The Z28 Camaro and Mach 1 Mustang. I need to reassess the RS2000 as well.

Sounds good, kinda figured the Z would be too fast. I havn't done any testing yet, but I'm hoping the SS is at a competitive level with these cars, I'm really wanting to represent Chevy in this.
