Which one do you prefer?
Viper all the way for me.

*ACR counts as in fully tuned

Both cars have over 1000hp.
Both are beasts.
But, Viper is controllable on sports tires, unlike Speed 12 - and also, Viper can actually take corners.

One of my favorite recent conundrums. I've had the Viper and TVR in the garage for a while. But, I recently setup the Speed 12 because the PSN is down.

I think the TVR drives better than the Viper, but my Viper ACR is (a little) faster.

In a race, I think either one could win.

I like them both.

The poll, just like the cars, is in a dead heat right now.

I class both of these cars (again I'll say - I reffer to fully tuned Viper ACR) as barely legal road cars.
And, as a road car - the Speed 12 fails because it's uncontrollable on sports tires (prove me wrong please, I haven't driven my Speed 12 a lot).

Interesting results...I really thought that the ACR will wipe out the Speed 12 on the poll...looks like this is going to be a close one.

It depends on the tuning, if you are good tuners both, well its hard to say. Remember it depends on the weight, aerodynamics, hp/tq, hp/tq curve, which car is the fastest one in drag racing. It also depends if you are running 1/4 mileish or ssr7 tunnel.

The Viper is better overall because it has less understeer. It can have a better top speed and launch as well. The TVR Cerbera Speed 12 will accelerate better for a while though (from close to 100 mph all the way to at least 230).

Well, if u get a god setup on the speed 12 it's faster, I have good setups on both, and I think in a race (not drag race that means nothing - but if it's a really long drag race the speed 12 wins) but if u get the 12 to handle it's better all-round .. I dont want fanboy comments on this

I'll test both cars (Speed 12 in particular, because I've tested my Viper quite a lot) tomorrow on Nordschleife.
On my 1st run today I got 6:49:xxx on sports soft tires.
I wonder if Speed 12 can get anywhere near that on sport softs.

I've never driven the ACR, but I have driven the Speed 12 and it hardly turns. Granted I've never attempted to set it up, but nonetheless.

My uninformed vote goes to the ACR.

Seems an odd comparison to me, a Viper fully tuned (and in a video game by the player, it's not as if it's a Hennessey Viper already set up) against a virtual version of a car of which only one exists, and was deemed too insane to put into full production.

I think the Speed 12 is included in GT5 (and Forza) more as a curio, that said, I was surprised at its handling, which I thought wasn't too bad. Sure it spins the wheels but I found it pretty manageable, on Sports Soft tyres too IIRC (can't check now as B-Spec grinding)

For that reason I choose the Speed 12, it's just an eccentric, fire-spitting rocket (well once it gets going!) and a lot of fun. I like Vipers but no more than Vettes or Ford GTs, they are all a nice drive, tuned or not.

I prefer the TVR because...

A) It's completely insane.
B) It's unique, there is only one left in real life.
C) It's built by TVR, which instantly makes it sub-zero cool.

I do like the Viper, but it's not as special as the TVR in my opinion, so I voted for the TVR.

The Cerebra Speed 12 is a good candidate for "Rarest car in GT5" as i've yet to see it show it's face yet. I haven't driven the Viper ACR yet either, despite buying and selling it 3 times already due to surprise cars showing up in the UCD soon after I buy it.

Power wise, the CS12 has 800 horses, but it was popular in GT4 and GTPSP as well for just spending all that power smoking, so it had pretty poor acceleration. I don't think it handled as good as it should have either in both games, as it is very light.

Found a pic i'd mislaid of the abandoned body shell of the original TVR Speed 12 (the one that appeared in GT2) today, will find the previous Speed 12 thread and add it to that, it's pretty heartbreaking though.

As far as I know there are no pics of this car in complete street legal form (it was kinda pink/purple in colour, not a standard TVR paint job I don't think), only models and the version in GT2. The pic looks like it was taken in the yard of the old TVR factory in Blackpool, but I don't have a source, it was the result of a google image search but the site was down.

Anyway I digress, hope the (Cerbera) Speed 12 gets a few more votes :)

The Speed 12 is a frickin' monster. It is an insane car built with the idea of raw power in a light body. It is an awesome car, if you can tame the beast that is.
(The car was awesome in GT2!)

Who ever says the viper is faster really does not know much about the cars and how they look when they are compared. Not only is the Speed 12 is lighter but it clearly has more performance points and more power so TVR Speed 12

Seeing the fact i cant drive a real car yet, i mostly go for looks, something what ACR for me would win. But since i driven both yesterday, i now know that

1) the speed 12 goes to my felling a milliongazillionbillion times faster (would that word exist?)
2) it handles worse. For many people that's a con, but to me a pro , since that makes it challenging
3) that it now lokks much prettier now i've driven it. I dont know why, but it just is

So speed 12 all the for me now (well, 80% of the way, cause damn that viper looks good)

Both are insane, but nothing can touch the speed 12's for pure comedy value.

It looks like an oversized clown show and drives like it looks. *

* gearing does help but nothing can overcome the 'rear up like a horse, surge'

Lap times around the ring.
TVR speed 12 : 6:13.994
Dodge Viper ACR : 6:18.562

The TVR takes the cake here.
It's just so insane and unique.
Like the ACR too, but it just can't compete.
