Of course he didn't see van Gisbergen - van Gisbergen parked himself in McLaughlin's blind spot. That's why you have to pull the move off quickly: it's tight and narrow, so you need to give the other guy time to react.

Really feel for the Erebus guys, did such a wonderful job repairing that car after the massive Sandown crash and now they've got to do it all over again.
