Hello,

I never played F1 before. I usually play gt5. With that being said, I pre-ordered the vita last week (just for MLB The Show). There was a special where I could choose a game at a very reduced price. F1 was one of them.
Like I said before, I have never played F1, but chose it because I have at least heard of it (from here). There were other games to choose from, specifically, Mod nation racers. I haven't heard of that before, but the cashier seemed surprised that I haven't?!?

Reading some background info from ign, they are both great games yet totally different.

This is where my question to you members comes in.

I am wondering if I made to correct choice with F1. I keep going back and forth in my mind whether or not to switch my choice to modnation.

If you had a choice, which would you choose? That is a tough question, I know, but I am torn.

Btw, my experience with racers is limited to gt5 (ps3 and psp) and the Shift series'. I prefer simulation over arcade. Yet little big planet was entertaining, and I am thinking that modnation would be a nice lighter experience.

What do you think?

Thank you.

Not sure how Modnation will be on Vita, but it was pretty fun on psp. It's a lot like Mario Kart, but being a huge F1 fan, I'd have to stick with F1...

Don't get ModNation. If it's anything like the PS3 version it will become overrun by DLC. It's gets really frustrating when the DLC shows up everywhere and there's so much you want but can't have.

F1 all the way!

OMG that game is abismal.... lol I knew I would be hard to produce a "sim-like" experience on a new, portable system, and in a short amount of time. But my honest opinion of it is that you shouldn't even try it. Take note I am a person who puts easily 20+ hours a week playing GT5 and F1 2011 (PS3). I am definitely going to return this game and get something else.

All in all.... if you are trying to imagine how that game will run on the PS Vita, just know that it will be much worse lol BUT!!! If you like Diddy Kong Racing driving physics with KERS and DRS positioned on hard-to-reach areas of the system I would not give up on Codemasters in making a fun, portable driving game just yet. Soon enough (probably about the fall time) they will release F1 2012 for all platforms, including the PS Vita. Nice try Codemasters, I am definitely looking forward to the next installment, on all platforms, and the $34.99 plus taxed that I payed for it : )

***Thank god they didn't put a demo of it on the Playstation store lol I'm sure that even less people would have considered buying it***

Those graphics are astonishingly horrid. Don't let the working title bit fool you because it will look EXACTLY like that at release just like the Wii and PSP release they did a while back.

Fortunately a lot of that trailer is from the 3DS "Compete on the go" trailer. Here is some actual Vita footage.

Doesn't look that bad at all.

Still doesn't look that good in my opinion, just like when they released games on the PSP and Wii that looked way worse than what the systems were capable off. I don't think they put much effort into their ports and the Vita can do better than that even with 'early life' games.

I have F1 2011 on the vita.

Cons:
- graphics, especially when your are used to Wipeout 2048 and Uncharted Golden Abyss.
- A bit too easy physics model. I would like to have they ability to lock my tyres during braking.
- No use of touch screen in the menu.
- No saving during 100% races. But that can be worked around by putting the Vita into stand by mode.
- No use of right analogue stick.

Pro:
- carreer mode, challenges.
- Smooth framerate with 22 cars on screen. Good T cam view.
- The steering does work nice with the analogue stick.
