I'm trying to do the Altezza race in ameteur and i can't seem to modify it right for the race. also , the vitz race in pro is giving me a problem too. does anyone have any tips on tuning these two cars?

What are your problems, and what have you tried?

For the Vitz race, you will need a fair amount of power. Also, make sure you've done at least Stage II lightweight. Another must for the Vitz is the racing transmission. The original is just so tall that the car feels like it's pulling a caming trailer around the track.

What is the Altezza doing or not doing? Here again you will need a fair amount of power. Lightweight is always a good way to gain an advantage over the competition in braking and acceleration.

Give us a little more info, and we can give it a better shot.

the vitz's problem is the lack of power. i've given it all the hp boosts i can but not the new transmission.the other vitzs speed away from me in the beginning of the races which really makes me ticked off. (btw, what is best to boost acceleration?)

as for the altezza, there is a problem with understeer and control in general. i've given it the lightweights and the hp boosts, but do i need to change the transmission or lsd?

For these races you really need to get all the mods before you try it, its very competitive. And dont forget super slick tires.

The racing transmission is pretty much a requirement with the Vitz. Crank the "auto setting" down pretty short, like in the mid 20s, and give it a try. Without it, even a powerful Vitz feels like it's on Quaaludes. I guarantee it will solve your problem.

Altezzas typically oversteer; I'm not sure what the problem is there. It also comes standard with a 6-speed trans (though not adjustable), so that's really not the problem. The other Altezza drivers are pretty aggressive, which makes it hard to stay away from them. The best I can say is try Turbo 2 and a 1.5-way (or full race) LSD. Try the racing or sport suspension, too, and lower the car a bit and boost the stabilizers. The Altezza does tend to lean like an ocean liner.

Definitely go with slicks as F1king suggests. If you can't make it on super slicks, go to mediums. They will last a 5-lap race without needing to pit.

Keep it up! These are both considered difficult series due to the freight-train driving style of the competition.

To add an additional note to Neon_Duke's thoughts, I ran the Vitz race fairly easily, however, I didn't take the lead in most races, until after the first few laps.

I ran it with nearly stock settings, but all the available mods. Blowing well over 100,000cr on the car.

Take a look at this thread Vitz/Yaris Write-up and it should help.

As a side note, you can win the Altezza LM car which will eliminate any problem with the Altezza series.
