I'm in the Professional Series Vitz challenge. I've already won every race except for SS 11 II. I can't keep up with the computer on this track.
Every other track, (except for Test Track) I just used the super slick tires, and ran in 6th place until the other cars pitted around lap 7, and by the time they caught up, the race was over. On the Test Track, I just ran up the gearing and was way too fast for them (interesting note, with the super slick tires, the front tires barely turned green, the back tires didn't change at all)

On SS 11 II, the computer racers are running laps around 2:14, and I'm running around 2:18-2:20. They pit at lap 5, and usually are out of the pit before I even get to them.

My Vitz is maxed, 294 HP (I'm using the stupid pink one I won for Clubman's Cup, the ones you buy can only get up to 274, but I didn't try the one you win for the Alzetta cup). Anyone have any hints for catching those guys?

I have the same car and won with it. My set up was about 2/3 on the gear ratio slider. I will check somemore on this.:D

Yep indeed this was also my nightmare.

I used the hardest tires (T2) so I didn't need to pit in, and played a bit with the camber/toe angle to get better steering and traction. Finally I managed to win with a 2" gap. (and saved the game 10 times to be sure...:-)

Cheers

Wow! I just finished the Vitz Professional level race and I agree... What a nightmare. I thought I was cool stuff when I breezed right through the first two tracks and then on the test track they couldn't get near me...

And then it happened. Special Stage Route 11 II, the track from HELL in reverse.

It took me 2 days off and on trying different settings and going nuts. In the end I don't think the settings had all that much to do with it. It all has to do with the way you have to drive that mouse like vehicle. Whenever your on the gas while turning the front tires push out and loose grip. So just about every corner needs to be double apex-ed (make each corner into 2 small corners) with lots of coasting in between squirts of throttle.

There is one last thing that do to pick up a few precious seconds each lap (Warning this may be viewed as a cheat but desperate times call for desperate measures). There are 2 very tight hairpin turns on the track 1 towards the beginning and 1 kinda past the middle. You can take those full throttle if you use your emergency-brake ["O" - button] to get you sideways before you bounce off the wall and you should end up in 2nd or 3rd gear pointing in the right direction, or at least pretty close. This seemed to work about 99% of the time I tried to only use this hack when I screwed up enough on a given lap to justify using it.

Like I said, I don't think my car settings had that much to do with victory but here they are anyway.

Completely loaded Vitz RS 1.5(J) with a stage 2 turbo
RACING TIRES: Super-slick [T1] in front / Slick [T2] in rear.

SPRING RATE: 4.4 front / 3.9 rear
RIDE HEIGHT: 113 front / 113 rear
SHOCK BOUND: 4 front / 6 rear
SHOCK REBOUND: 5 front / 7 rear
CAMBER ANGLE: 2.6 front / 1.3 rear
TOE ANGLE: 0.0 front / -1.0 rear
STABILIZERS: 1 front / 3 rear

BRAKE BALANCE: 8 front / 12 rear

LIMITED SLIP stuff: left defaults
GEAR RATIO: level 22 the for Auto Setting & 4.308 for the final gear

Active Stability Management: level 0
TCS Controller: level 5 [default]

I'm sure these settings are not the best but they did end up working for me. I realize that all the qualifying laps I ran while testing different settings is what allowed me to finally win. So expect to run alot more than just the 10 green flag laps to perfect your technique. Also after loosing an attempt try viewing the replay from the lead cars in-car-view and watch closely.

As painful as it was I'm sure I'll be back to try again after I get 100% done. This is THE track you'll love to hate...

I merely went a step softer than normal on my tires; the added grip shaved nearly three seconds off my lap time and all I had to do was pit after five laps instead of seven.
