The RSi is quite simply the ultimate factory built Beetle. That statement may not sound very impressive, but the RSi is a very capable hot hatch. With a production run of just 250 cars and with a price tag of a whopping $80,000 each, it is also one of the most expensive and exclusive.

Its engine is a completely understressed 225 bhp 3.2 litre V6. This unit is mated to a close-ratio 6 speed manual and all wheel drive, endowing the RSi with a 0-60 sprint time of just 6.4 seconds and a maximum speed of 140 mph.

The differences that most people notice however, are in its appearance, with its steroid-esque wide arch body kit adding 3 inches to its width and chunky 18 inch alloys. The striking visuals are continued inside, with its brown leather clad four seat layout, real carbon fiber detailing and billet aluminium fittings.

The Beetle RSi is the epitome of what hot hatches should aspire to, and it deserves full premium glory on GT...

..........6.4 for a 80 grand car?? If you bought this "performance" car brand new back in 2001, then you were an idiot....

You're paying for the exclusivity more than the performance really, but I agree. I much prefer its modern resale value in the £25k region.

I absolutely love this type of cars, like the Lotus Esprit Sport 350, 2002 Alfa Romeo 147 GTA, 2002 Audi TT ABT, BMW 1M...
Sporty Cars without a massive comum appeal.
BTW, love your channel, specially "beards and cars".
