Volkswagen Bucks the Downsizing Trend With a New, Two-Liter Polo GTI

I nearly brought a brand new 2016 Polo Gti but it was a bit too small on the inside for me. Maybe this might fit me well after all.

Its a bit late though-I brought a mint condition Mk6 Golf Gti. Love it :)

I've read elsewhere that it's a seven speed DSG. I've got the older generation in Fabia guise and I really like it. I'm not sure I'm prepared to pay the VW premium though and 197bhp seems a little on the low side these days.

I also wonder if they'll do a performance pack and introduce a proper LSD.

It's a shame we probably won't see cars like this in GT Sport, that was one of the things I always liked about the GT series.

The current car (1.8 TSI, 189hp) has a 7-speed DSG with torque limited to 184lbft (250Nm) or a 6-speed manual with 236lbft (320Nm). The new one (2.0 TSI, 197hp) is launching with a 6-speed DSG and a 6-speed manual to follow, both at 236lbft.
