I have dreamed for this since GT1... that they should put in an VW "old"(or what you should call it) Beetle in the game... it should be so cool to drive in an pink Beetle with 500 hp..... do anyone agree?
Isn't it VW Bug? the NEW one is the beetle. Or atleast that's How I thought they differentiated the 2. But then again you gotta remember you can't do engine swaps in GT, so there will be no porsche(VW) engines for the Bug.
The real name of it is "VW 1600" or something like that... here in sweden we call it "Bubbla" wich means bubble... so it has nothing to do with Beetles and Bugs...

actually vdub bugs can be pretty mean! my sisters bug broke down and me and her boyfriend took out the engine and rebuilt it.
you can probably get 350 - 400 hp out of one of thaose things. the car would be great! MR, small, lightweight, ........not sure about the aerodynamics, but what do you want from a car desighned to raise money for the nazi party?
ps. if you ever have to take the motor out of a bug, take the transmission out with it, or you will soon find yourself in deep SH##!!
BOTH generations of the car are called the Volkswagen Beetle. In fact only yesterday the last remaining old Beetle plant (in Mexico) shut down. There have been 22 million "old" Beetles made, making it the largest selling ever single model car (the Corolla is on 25 million, but there's been a few hundred variants and redesigns).
GT3 distinguishes the car by calling the new Beetle the errr.. "New Beetle".
The old Volkswagen Beetle's have 40 HP. The slowest and lowest horsepower car ever in a GT game is the FIAT 500R, which is in GT2. That only has 22 HP! There are tractors nowadays that have more power than that! Of course, it was made in 1957, and tractors probably weren't all that powerful back then...
