Volkswagen will serve a new edition of its Gol-based Saveiro small pickup truck at the São Paulo Motor Show 2014 on October 28 in Brazil.

Named the "Surf", it's basically a higher-specification version of the regular-cab Saveiro Trendline CS with some added styling features to justify its existence in the range.

These include the chrome-trimmed grille with a honeycomb insert, silver accents on the door mirrors, smoked lights, 15-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, Surf badges, side panel decals, faux leather seats, aluminum pedals and standard A/C.

Nothing changes under the hood with the Surf maintaining VW's 1.6-liter bi-fuel unit that delivers 104hp when running on ethanol and 101hp on gasoline, paired to a five-speed manual.

It's a pretty nice car but do you know if it has a bigger engine as option? 101 hp sounds not very exiting :p
No, there are no options other than that... But hey... You can allways improve it yourself! :P

Yes, there is!
It has been released like 2 months ago a 1.6l 16v DOHC (EA211) version. The maximum output is 120hp, but there is more power, compared to the old EA111 (1.6l 8v SOHC), throughout the entire rev range. Also, it's smoother, lighter and more economical than the old one.

Oh alright, thanks. From what I´ve seen, or didn´t see for the matter, there was no info on other engines.
