First things first: Congrats to the folks who voted for the Bugatti Veyron in the French car thread, your model pulled it out by three votes in the end, beating the Citroen DS and Renault Clio.

Thus, our world series sits at:

- The Origional Mini (Representing the UK)
- The Lamborghini Muria (Representing Italy)
- The Bugatti Veyron (Representing France)

----------

This thread will contiain the nominations of the Japanese models from the previous thread, same as always vote for your model, and feel free to debate the models. They are listed in alphabetical order, and it is intended that they include all generations and variants. Some have been noted specifically, as I know some of us (including myself) don't like to read, so I did that for ya'all.

----------

And of course, I voted for the Datsun 240Z...

You didn't include my nomination of Skyline? Just GTR Skylines. :(

Yes, I knew someone was going to say it... Nearly every post had mentioned the GTR, and I was positive I was going to overlook a "normal" Skyline nom...

Yeah, it should be Skyline (all generations), not just GTRs.

Go Corolla! (Even though I didn't vote for it... duh  )

Mods can feel free to add it as an option, as I no longer have the ability to change it...

Some good ones up there this time. It's pretty hard to decide, but the MX-5 gets it because it's such a simple car that's lasted all these years and it still going strong. You very rarely get a car like that. 👍 Althought the latest one may have screwed it up a little bit...

best Japanese car ever :)
And how?! It was a good performance car but it was superbly expensive and totally impractical! It's certainly the best Japanese car ever in terms of performance, but when you factor in stuff like price and practicality, it falls too short to merit serious consideration. Or at least that's my view. :D

I don't know how the Bugatti is representing France, since it's not produced there. Ettore was born in Italy, as well, so I don't even know how you came to that conclusion. The Veyron is produced in Germany, much like it's predecessors in Molsheim. Of the 20 Bentley dealerships that are distributing the vehicles (besides the factory itself), NONE are in France.

As far as this vote goes, there's no Skyline available, so I made my second place choice with the Silvia series (They also had the 180SX, that you didn't mention. It's not part of the Silvia series).

I voted for the civic of course. :)

While from a fun factor there are better cars on this list such as the evo (I loved driving it when I got the chance) the civic is at home as an economy minded grocery getter that loves the enviroment or on the track dominating big V8 muscle and anything inbetween. 👍

So I suppose the Camry would be a better vote because it has four doors and is very practical?

Wow...I have no idea what to vote for right now.

Yes, there is. It's 4th in the list, not with the other Nissans for some reason.

I voted for the Miata. As a car guy I think it's just a wonderful idea. Cheap, fun reliable, who could ask for anything more?

Can we seriously drop the Veyron crap? If it doesn't win best car it will for sure win most controversial.

I think he means general Skylines, not a particular model like GTR. I would like to vote for 'Nissan Skyline' (as a whole) as I nominated it, but I can't, there is a lot of history behind them with out even going into the GTR versions.

And this is the guy who pushed the Veyron ad nauseum...

BTW, go the Miata. I have no doubt the Civic will get a lot of votes... if only because it's a little prettier than the Corolla.

Dihatsu Cuone?

I'm surprised at you, YSSMAN. 👎

You nominate, I put them on the list!

With all of the fiascos with me forgetting models, not doing the right ones etc, I just throw them up there...

240Z FTW!

And please, PLEASE, P L E A S E DO NOT TURN THIS INTO A DAMNED NSX VS SKYLINE VS VHACHAMACALLIT ARGUEMENT LIKE THE DS VS VEYRON DEBACLE. Just vote, state your opinion, and leave it at that. The DS vs Veyron ongoing arguement ruined that poll and ruined that thread. I don't remember this happening in the Italy or UK poll threads.

I completely agree there. Keep it nice kids, or atleast do the best you can to keep it nice. Granted debates are good, but when it gets as silly as it did with the DS versus Veyron everyone gets sick of it quickly.

...However, I'm almost certain the American and German ones are going to be messy...

Actually I'm predicting the Japanese one to be the most sloppy and irritating. There are too many fanboys of Japanese cars vs anything else. I do think this thread turns south fast. Can we close the topic and just allow the votes. :sly:

The American one shouldn't be that bad...I can pretty much guarantee a classic pre-1973 car is going to win. It seems the world more appreciates American classics vs anything made after 1975...with good reason .

I was talking about the spelling...

C'mon people!

Vote Daihatsu!
