Welcome to Apricot Hill for the first Honda VTEC owners club trackday of the year.

Any Vtec powered car is allowed out on the track to do as many laps as the owner likes. There will be some demo runs from JGTC and other honda powered race cars later in the day but the track is now open for the road legal cars to have a bit of fun :)

The event organiser has been out on the track in his brand spanking new Mugen modded S2000 and can report that track conditions are great.

Just post your screaming Vtec times for apricot hill along with car type power to weight ratio and tyres your using on your motor.

Have fun out there guys and remember motorsport is dangerous ;)

haha, ok i'll bite.

I just hit the track in my new Polyphony Digital sponsored Monte Carlo Blue Pearl S2000 Type-V. They've been kind enough to provide my stock S2000 w/ all the best upgrade parts I could wish for to turn my car into a race-bred machine, with hopes that I'll use it to turn heads at this years VTEC track day. It features every upgrade option available, rides on T8 tires and currently has 548 horsies for a P/W ratios of an astounding 1.954

The newly highly modified engine is still breaking in, so I couldn't push it to its max yet, but so far have achieved a clean lap time of 1'17.463. Not bad for starters, more is sure to come off when the engine is broken in and the car is properly tuned to suit this track.

The Mugen S2000 been out on the track for a bit of a thrash. Its only been lightly modified with the addition of a Mugen sports exhaust/filter kit and full customized suspension so it's not so fast out there just yet....

Under that carbon fibre bonnet lurks a VTEC power plant producing just 268 BHP but when fitted with normal tyres it makes for a fun if drive around the circuit :)

The cars now been wheeled back into the garage and is about to under go some serious modification:D

Hi,

With my brand new phoenix-blue HONDA S2000, wich is fully stock, I managed a clean 1.34.192.

Its still a new car so it can only get better...

can you beat it? remember; fully stock!

greets,

Steve

But then it was time for my beloved, fine tuned, berlina black S2000 ...

specs;

323 bhp
260 Nm torque :)
power/weight : 3.405
torque/weight : 0.423

serious race setup: suspension, brakes, drivetrain,...
and T5 medium tyres

The Time: a quite good 1.25.943 ( nobody would get 0.5 sec. less ;) )

Welcome to the party quattro :) may have to have a go at the standard time...it was using normal tyres wasn't it??

If you haven't seen it already there's an interest check / sign up for a short S2000 series in the OLR forum

Yep standard tires and thanks for telling me :)

With a few more miles on my race fed Type-V and a few more hp (551 now) I hit the track again and after a couple minor tweaks in the settings managed a clean 1'16.995. There was a dodgy moment but the video was reviewed by the track officials and deemed legal.

Having been satisfied w/ my improvement, I hopped into my slightly modified NSX Type-R and had a few runs. Its been upgraded w/ all the best suspension, brake, and transmission parts, but for the power adders its been modified with a racing muffler, stage 1 N/A upgrade, and an engine balancing. It rides on T8 tires and has up to a stage 2 weight reduction. So far with 18 miles on the clock it has 347HP and a P/W of 3.152. On the track she handles like a dream, but the power just isnt there to compete fairly with my Type-V, and the best I managed was a 1'21.726. Maybe I'll break out my fully modified custom Boulder Opel Blue NSX Type S-Zero. I know that would pull times that would rival my S2000.

For my crowd pleaser I broke out my fully modified GT Class Acura Integra Type-R. While the body may look stock, thats about the only thing that still is ;) Sitting at a healthy 395HP and a P/W of 2.696, the T8's its equipped with managed to pull that car around the track for a decent time of 1'25.257

Thats all for today, Im all vtec'ed out. More times tomorrow.

Whilst waiting for mugen to sort out my S2000 I managed to blag the keys to a nice imola orange honda S2000 that was being used for passanger rides around the track. First lap out was a little bit hairy with a lot of oversteer entering turn 2 under brakes  and a spin at the hairpin. After a few more laps I finally clocked a resonable 1'33.754. until a brush with the barriers stop play.

Also had a spin in a turbocharged type-V...wow that thing was quick actually managing a 1'16.609 unfortunatly the marshalls informed me that a little too much curb had been taken at the left /right flick just before the last corner so i had to settle for a 1'17.200

Hopefully the mugen will be back on the track soon ;)

Hmmm. . . I might have to get the old dusty hondas out from the closet and run some, you can't let IDAFC have all the glory now can you???

The Trusty Black S2000 Type V gave me a lap time of 1'17.015 with the second lap with 544hp. I know this will get faster :D

ok 1'16.952 :D I miss competition so much, it sucks having to work 64 hours a week now :(

:D now whats that supposed to mean? hehe....nice time, looks like the Type-V will be making a return appearance the the track tonight. hehe

Well it took some time, but after some more miles on my Type-V, and a few more HP (556 now and still climbing) and a few tweaks in my settings, I managed a new clean time of 1'16.571 :D

Now I can go actually do some work on this weeks official race. Once I get a decent time there I'm sure i'll head back to apricot w/ more of my favorite hondas! I still wanna turn some heads in my S-Zero, and for the fun of it, zip around in my fully race prepped civic SiR II. A few runs in the spoon civic might be enjoyable too...i got a lotta hondas, i could do this all day..haha

And miata, ouch...64 hours a week? :( I feel for ya man, i can barely the energy to do some quality racing w/ my measly 30 hours a week

No times from me today....been trying to sort out the cars for the s2000 short series.....this looks like its turning into a type-V shootout.....hoprfully back on track with the type V tomorrow ;)

haha, ive got fresh mugen and spoon s2000's sitting in the garage waiting for the short series. Ive been meaning to tune them up to spec and try em out, maybe i'll test em on apricot

Yeah that is the auto business for you. . .

I will be running the Type V for a little bit tomorrow, I think there is still a little time to come off :D

I ran a 1'24.449 in my spoon after some quite slow begining laps. The car has 355 hp and I'll give the power to weight rtion in a couple of hours or as soon as i cna get on the sony. LOL

How do you guys get such fats times. What are your tuning specs. PM them to me so I can understand why. May be I'm not pushing it hard enough. Oh well.

Well my type V is fully modified and has over 550HP so that does help. hehe.. If your car only has 355hp then your lap times are pretty much on target. Im guessing you probably have a p/w ratio of 3.XXX somthing

well 1'16.631 is my fastest so far, but the lap had two turns that could have been done better. I think a few more laps in the Type-V and we should be seeing the low 1'16.xxx :D

I did a quick run in my fully modified Spoon Civic tonight. 336hp, 2.440 p/w, and T8's. I was surprised w/ this car actually, it drove pretty well for a FWD car, except you can NOT get on the gas around tight turns, even T8's cant bond w/ the road when the front tires are spinning at 14,000rpm....hehe. Best time w/ that car so far is 1'23.314

Then for the fun of it i jumped into my fully stock, O miles on the clock Mugen S2000 and took it to the track AS IS, 255hp and p/w of 4.862 on normal tires. after a few laps of that i managed a 1'34.610

Thats all for now :D

hmm, can I used my hybrided Mugen S2000 with over 645hp ???
