I LOVE it. But it needs to be allowed to go lower than what its limited to currently.

How did you get it to go a slow as that?
I tried to get mine that way, but it was nowhere near as low.
What settings did you use?

EDIT: Oops, just realised thats a Real life picture :D
:dunce:

I would love to do that in GT5 though :D

PD sometimes hits the bulleyes when it wants to satisfy the wishes of the most petrolheads of the guys here, me included, by putting the classic available for download, although they could work out a bit on the upgrades ( the awful sound of the titaniun race pipe doesn't match with the reality of a fully tuned air cooled type 2 vw engine by far), or in a race mod version, which will be darn awesome. I still waiting for a rm version for the classic 500 as well, for considering that both the 500 and the beetle, as well all the low cost car that proved to be an outstanding project, like the mini, or the miata, etc, are far more important to the amatuer racer than a super or a hypercar, like the aventador, for instance.

Trend amongst who? Idiots who know nothing about cars?

Yes.

It's a youth thing, inspired by what some Yakuza gang members were doing overseas. It's all about style... and apparently ruining a good car.

Again, it'll pass, and we'll have another new fad from people that don't know much about cars or style.

F'n kids these days.

Wow, what a couple of crabby old men. Whats the matter guys, your partners not putting out for you?

The people who build those cars probably know a lot more about tuning and building projects than both of you put together.
And, how do you know its F'n kids? Most of the modders I see and read about who make cars like this are grown ups with a wife and kids.

SimonK, I aim this at you mainly. Most of your posts on this forum come across as rude and confrontational. Give it a rest. If its not constructive, save the finger energy.

As for the Beetle, its amazing. I made a thread like this recently, wasn't a poll though:grumpy:

Thats a slightly ignorant statement Simon..

Agreed, you dont have to be a "car person " to suit your car to your liking. I hate beetles, but that one with the slammed suspension looks alright.

If your response to those two posts is to make inflammatory remarks about those two member's sex lives, I can't imagine the coronary you'd have if you ever went into the Questionable Modification thread.

You aren't a moderator, so if you perceive a problem with someone's posting attitude either report it to someone who is or keep it to yourself. Especially not after the content of the rest of your post.

Alright then, if you found this joke inappropriate

I apologize, but joke or not (and it didn't seem obvious to be a joke to me), people kept bringing it up in the other thread and it was rather annoying watching the thread about the car turn into a pretentious philosophy debate.

Thats Herbie, nobody with a soul can siriously hate this car. :D It's like hating a cute dog puppy, you don't do that.

The car is really fun in GT, expecially fully tuned.

I love it. Slow cars are fine by me as long as they're iconic, and perhaps no slow car is as identifiable as the classic VW Beetle.

*looking at you, Suzuki Swift, Honda Today, and the hundreds of other worthless and slow cars in GT5 that don't serve any purpose*

I know enough about motor vehicles and tyres to know that driving that Beetle with such a huge degree of camber will ruin the tyres and give awful handling characteristics. So no, I don't think those building cars like that specific one know more than I do since they don't even know the basics.

I think that's up to the mods to judge, don't you?

i personally love this car
ive always had a huge passion for the old vw beetles
what i mainly do with this one is put myself into the cockpit view, pull out my DFGT, have my personal music playing on the game, and drive the nurburgring LM version (forget the name of it at the moment but the one with the F1 course attached) and go for a good spin 4-5 laps or so
do the same with a few other courses
its alot of fun, and depending on the set-up, you can get into some pretty cool situations, once i took a turn too sharp, got it up on two wheels, and kept it balanced there for a good 5 seconds plus before putting it back down
in my opinion, 3rd for top car DLC

I love this car.

Before it was dlc in gt5 I spent ages in tdu2 just to get the wrecks so you can receive the beetle.

And just like in tdu2 the beetle in gt5 is getting enormous usage from me.

I love it. PD should focus more on retro cars for GT6 as we already have a ton of supercars.

The only thing the bug needs is an RM option, but I say that about every car that doesn't have it.

RM in Herbie livery.

max the thing out and install the body kit on it and it gets over 500pp
detune it a little and enter it in the rome(?) b-spec seasonal and it will win depending on your driver and the tune of the car
hilarious to see the beetle take down a lotus esprit lol

Love it to bits....nearly pissed myself when I first put Racing sports on it....still hasn't wiped the smile off my face, such an awesome little car, sure its got a lack of torque but that makes it more fun blowing past the AI

Love it!
Recently took it out for the 500pp Nurburgring GP/D Seasonal and rolled it on the first corner!
Too funny!

This car was the reason why I went throught the hassle of updating from v1.00 to 2.05. I never felt so happy when I saw it in the news section.

I personally dislike it. Don't have a problem with people who do like it though. I just feel the Vantage is the winner od badassness out of that car pack, frigging love that car.

Though going on SP and rolling that little Beattle is always goodfun!

I'm not an avid fan of it but I find it a good addition to the series. After all, it's one of the famous icons of motoring history.

jeep2008
Fully tuned is top heavy and prone to flip on every corner!!!Other than that it's an icon.

Have you
A) lowered it
B) stiffened the suspension
C) stiffened the anti roll bar
?
Lol I just got the pie chart for loving the beetle to 69%

Don't particularly like it. Ugly car, and more annoyingly i can't judge gear changes by sound alone so everytime i drive it without the onscreen aids as the car doesn't have a tacho i hit the limiter. Not driven a non standard one since it was updated, though the standard model feels better.

Would be good to have some other cars of the same age and style though, simpler slower cars can be much more fun.
