To quote a song, "Even better than the real thing".

The normal VX220 constantly outperforms the Elise in road tests. The VX220 Turbo just makes it all look very silly indeed - although it is hampered by being a Vauxhall (the word "Vauxhall" appears NOWHERE on the body of the VX220 Turbo).

The Exige is kind of a different class - it's got a roof and is really a pure track car.

And the badge doesn't actually have the word "Vauxhall" on it.

Vauxhall's marketing department are acutely aware of just how much less desirable any car bearing their name is - by rights it should be outselling the Elise by a margin, but it's not. So they took the decision to remove any reference to "Vauxhall" from the body of the car - in fact I believe it doesn't even appear on the engine!

And it's a great car, I've driven one of the NA ones.

But the Exige kicks its pony ass. The Exige S1 is the only car that has been up for going into a corner quicker than I was. Incredible car.

If I had a spare £32,000 I would buy an S2 immediately. Trust me, the Exige is awesome, in the proper sense of the word.

I think better comparison would be a elise and a vx220... i would take an elise, exige or vx220 if i could get any of them over here... soon very soon...

If I had to choose I'd have the VX220 because it looks better, but also because it's a Vauxhall. I'm not a huge fan of Vauxhalls in general, but performence cars from ordinary manufactuers I like (e.g Hyundai Coupe, Skoda Octavia RS etc.)
