Wager Mode? Game over mode?

Would it be cool, and possible, to implement a wager mode that allowed you to wager your cash and or your car against some one else? Or use your cash as an entry fee into races and have the pot divied out to podium finishers etc.
How about a game over mode where if you crash out, your dead and have to watch the race etc. Ladder tourney's?

Nirous mode? a nitrous shot as a reward for each pass?
 
I dont think that idea would fare to well. What if you throw in a lot of money and someone just rams you off the course basically ruining your chances of winning? Money out the window.

I think you would have to meet the person you wanted to race and enjoy/trust racing them already before you called a "Grudge match" or whatever and you would enter the next event in identical cars and would have that race to settle it etc. Maybe too difficult though.

No ones into Nitrous mode?
 
I think in the interest of true simulation there should be something implemented for crashes. The severity of the crash would dictate the outcome. Hit a wall at 100mph, game over and you spectate from the pits. Have a mild off in the grass, suspension damage makes you limp to the pits. Given Kaz has said he's not a fan of damage, I'll doubt we'll ever see that.

Wager mode? Not for Gran-Turismo I feel. I did run some private races earlier in the year that involved close friends and a paypal account we all added to. We ran $5 races for many weeks, $1 fastest lap time, and weekly bonuses based on point standings. I just never posted it here in GTP because I don't think Jordan would approve of real money gambling. I will say those were the best races I've ever had, and look forward to doing it again after Christmas.

I actually think the wager aspect would be a great idea, personally i would only do it with a group of drivers i know are clean but in escense it would be good fun. I should think the main reason they dont do it is it would mean there would be a simple way round thier 1 million gift car rule, you could get cash/cars to your team/league mates so they could buy a car they needed worth more than million.

You could always do hot laps and take it in turns to be on the track, or phase it so each car is nowhere near the other.
 
Seems like a pretty good idea. The person who would be ramming who looses himself so it wont be any advantage for him to do that ;)

Isn't this game already at least three games? I am just saying so many different people playing this game for so many different reasons and to reach so many different ends. $20 for damage modeling and nitrous boost so dudes can clown around in a much more immersive arcade death/derby experience?
Theres probably a market for it is all I am saying. With this graphics engine, coupled with Larger environments/PS Home type features, Eventually we could be pulling out of virtual houses to drive to the race course of our choice and seeing who we meet along the way and drag racing from light to light, and hopefully not getting any tickets or in a police chase. I think/Hope all these things are possible in the future.

It seems to me Kaz/Sony are building a Virtual Motor City. Kind of Smart as a real Motor Car could become a thing of the past eventually.
