I have now had my Driving force pro, for well over 7 years now, it has served me well, through GT4, GT5, GT5p, NFS shift 2, F1 CE, F1 2010, and 2011. And now i have saved enough money on the side, for a logitech G27, and since it was released in 2009, its not the latest best thing. I have also decided, because of the dual motor and 6 speed shifter. Fanatec GT3 RS V2 is out of the question.

So my question is, buy the G27, or wait for a new model to come out? Or wait a bit longer(3 more months) and get the Thrustmaster T500RS. Or is the G27, the best value for money? Because i feel that i am missing out on the realistic driving expierence.

Same situation as you. Using the Driving for pro. Which was the best wheel back them. I am going the Fanatec route mostly because it has X360 support. The price difference is not that much and I know I am going to get better quality product overall.

I went from a DFP to a T500RS. The T500 makes the G27 feel like a toy. I'd go far as to say it is a bigger progression from G27 to T500 than from DFP to the G27.

If you want x-box support then you'll need to go for a Fanatec (CSR or CSRE).

If you've money to burn you can wait for the Fanatec CSW which may or may not be better than the T500.

Okay thankyou, after reading the forums, there seems to be a big trend towards the T500. Too bad its $300(Aud) more expensive, but it could be worth the wait.

I just don't want to fork out that much for a wheel, only to see, in a few months to a year a new G29 or something come out by Logitech, which is even a bigger step forward.

BFP - Has and always will be the best wheel for it's day!
T500RS - Has a super powered wheel motor for some very nice Force Feedback, but lacks the H-Shifter and the Padels do not spin with the wheel. So if you were looking for something with a shifter, this is NOT it!
G27 - Has a moderate amount of Force Feedback, has the 6 speed H shifter, and the Padels move with the wheel.
G27E (Arc Mod) - Costs a lot more than the conventional G27, but doubles the power of the Wheel Motor, thus increasing the Force Feedback for all games. I would suggest this to anyone who has a large want for a strong force feedback experience. The T500RS has a great amount of FFB but does not offer the shifter. In my case, I really wanted the 6 speed shifter.

My next purchase will be the Arc Modded G27E!

The T500RS has a separate shifter available in 8 days time: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=223305

Anyone who has one will tell you the idea of attached paddles on a wheel that spins this fast and powerfully is terrifying. :)

The optional F1 wheel has paddles which move with the wheel (as you wouldn't let the wheel go) unlike the GT wheel.

I can only recommend the T500 RS which is really in different league than the G27. It's worth it, although with the shifter it does end up being a little pricy, but you'll enjoy it for years, especially if you've been satisfied with the DFP for 7 years.

Yes, that is true, good point. Thanks for all the responses everyone.
