God this is painful, I ordered a G27 on monday thinking it would be here by now

Yesterday the shifter mount for my gameracer cockpit arrived so i removed my trusty old Driving Force Pro, packed it all away and fitted the shifter mount in preparation

So now i'm playing the waiting game :grumpy:

From logitechs website? If so and you went for standard shipping, you will most likely wait for 2 weeks without delay. Would you like to ship the dfpro to me as you wait? Hehe

Panic over its here now :)
Turned up about dinnertime, i've only had an hour so far but i'm pretty impressed

It'll be on in a minute until the early hours 👍

Whats a DFP worth? :)

I ordered mine yesterday and it has been dispatched. Expecting delivery around Tuesday. Wonder if i'll get mine before you :sly:

My first wheel :) I was put off cheaper wheels like the DFP/DFGT mainly because of the noise they make.

You should be put off by only two main factors in buying a DFGT for sim racing{they're fine for console racing with driver assists}.....

1...hard plastic wheel rim
2...hyper sensitive pedals

A G27 solves both of these problems and adds proper paddle shifters+ a 6speedH.

G27 FTW BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone seen ChiliCokes racing setup on YouTube. Check that ish out it is real nice with the RM Pedals.

I got mine yesterday!!! It's so good:tup:. My old wheel was 240 degrees and I can't seem to get used to 900 degrees for drifting. So much harder but I should learn it quickly.:dopey:

Also, how do I set my handbrake? If I remember correctly you can use another wheel in the options to set it?

Only GT 5 for now, but I made a new cockpit in the same room with my pc with a 32", so if I find a game tempting enough I can switch to pc in a second!

There's plenty of simbin demo's on steam.....why not dl a few and see how the G27 feels...."but" don't be too quick to judge the game as you'll need to ensure your wheel settings and set up are in order.....cause in this game, overall set up makes quite a difference.

I would love to check iracing but I am let down because it is focused only on racing cars and mostly americans. Also I dont like they charge for every single car!

I can't say I'm a huge fan of iracing....I didn't like it's GFX or it's driving model, and yes, if you want a fair selection of cars and tracks, you could kiss $500+ goodbye.

As I said, try a Race07/GTR evo demo off steam, or go ahead and buy Race07+GTR evo.....your G27 was made for this type of game.

I notice RACE07 is only $5.99 on steam, or $18 with GTR Evo[evo has the Nurburgring 24km}
Evo has all sorts of awesome sim cars, both yankee and euro, so you've got 600BHP Corvette, Aston Martin etc, and an awesome 500BHP BMW.

There's tons of expansion packs, but RACE07 is the main game which the expansions are linked to.

When I get my G27, I'll be spending my entire weekend racing Evo multiplayer, probably for weeks on end, LOL.

I got mine yesterday (Monday afternoon). I'm very happy with it :D I set it up with GT5, put it on simulation and put the FFB to 8 to start out with. It was a shock when I hit my first kerb, you just don't expect it to be that strong and it took a couple of hours of getting used to.

My laptimes are about the same as what I was doing with the pad (Still managing to gold license tests within a couple of attempts). The main difference I notice is how easy slow corners and chicanes are, I can nail them near everytime, hitting the apex and getting clean exits. But in the faster corners i'm struggling to match my performance with a pad, often putting in too much steering lock causing me to spin, but i'm getting there. I think I took to it fairly quickly, but that's because I wasn't particularly amazing with a pad, I just need to practice to get up to a decent standard.

I haven't tried any PC sims yet, they won't run very well on my laptop so I will be getting a new PC soon, where I will try rFactor and the like. iRacing is probably not an option at the moment due to cost and a below par internet connection. Tried it with F1 2010 on PS3 and the FFB is nowhere near as strong, it feels like one of those cheap non-FFB wheels, slight resistance but no real feedback. I think this is more a problem with the game though.

The only faults I can find are my table isn't big enough so I can't use the shifter :( and the force feedback isn't quite as smooth as I would like (Which I guess I could of fixed by buying a T500 or a GT2 for double the price... hmm, not worth it). The gears give it a sort of clunky feeling when making small adjustments, which would probably have been more pronounced in a DFGT/DFP/G25 which don't use helical gears, though probably less pronounced in belt fed wheels.

I find the pedals decent and the carpet grip works great (Haven't used the clutch yet, I don't intend to until i'm used to it properly), contrary to reviews i've seen about the pedal mount moving around. I'm just loving this wheel. Sadly i'm away for a few days so I won't get to use it again until the weekend. I'll be all out of practice :P

I'm loving mine 👍 although i still haven't mastered drifting with it :nervous:

I took some of the bend out of the pedal mounting plate on my Gameracer Pro to reduce the angle of the pedals and drilled the plate and bolted the pedals down using the threaded holes in the base (Nice one Logitech 👍 )

By the sounds of it, that's a nice setup you have there :)

The setup I have it just on a foldable coffee table kind of like this, but lower and more sturdy. I have to use it lengthways otherwise the legs obstruct the pedals, hence why I can't use the shifter as it's simply not wide enough. I've mounted it on the side but obviously can't reach it for the shifter, it's mainly just for the buttons (More specifically, for the reverse button :P which i've been using a lot XD).

From September i'll be in university halls, so i'll just put it on the desk there. I won't attempt building a proper rig of any sort until I have my own place.

EDIT: Mine was ordered on the Friday evening, delivered on the Monday shortly after noon. That's only around half a working day from dispatch to delivery. :D Got to love Amazon delivery.
