Wanted : Voice chat in GT4 Online

Hey guys, we could just do it like 1st person shooters do. Get your whole team on a teamspeak or ventrillo server. And then just run gt4 through your monitor w/ a videocapture card. And there's ur ingame chat. In real life you cant exactly talk to opponents during races, so teamspeak would be a bit realisitic if it doesnt come in the game. 👍 I mean, look at what I6 said, lol. Do u guys really want that?. lol :)
 
SOCOM 2. Full Spectrum Warrior. What do they have in common? Voice chat. Well, that and online play. If GT4 had voice chat, I don't think it would be much useful unless you have a rally co-driver (to be authentic in rally racing). And considering that races can be seen online by spectators, I'm not sure if I would go through with perhaps going online and telling people how to race, what's coming up, or a reminder of how many laps to go. I was kind of considering a headset and maybe find a game or two to work with, but I'm not real sure how I would do in a multiplayer game with the voice chat.

Another idea I had for voice chat would be reminiscent of... what's that game? "Hey You, Pikachu!" or something? There were some Pokémon games which feature voice recognition. If you could be able to voice to your pit crew the changes you want to make, they can prepare for these changes. For example, let's say you want to change tires, you'd have to use a sort of codes to make it work. So maybe the recognition would be something like this:

CHANGING ALL TIRES: "all tires"
ADDING FUEL: "refuel"

Other than that, I don't see a real use for Voice Chat. Is someone going to perfect "driving without hands" with the voice set?
 
i was thinking more of say: during a teams drift session say, the leader decided that he wanted everyone to do a 360 right before the next turn or start chokuing or something, he could just say it. Or if we have team endurance races it would come in handy. Stuff like that. Or talking smack during battles, but not to the pt where its annoying. Like say if you outbreak someone and you said "your breaks are already fading?" Or something like that. i dunno.. it could be a waste of bandwidth for most situations. but i've got a cable modem. 👍 whatever. i just want gt4

I dont think I would want to talk to anyone I play against online cause it would just be pathetic or some 11 year old yelling curse words at me while trying to hit me on every turn. Personally I'm looking forward to the single player career and online as a useless extra...

Yes that's right, online chat abillity mostly brings out the stupid people who are always there to just have fun, to me gt4 together with the chat abillity is supposed to be a = Real driving simulator =
so i also don't need no stupid peeps chouting trough there headset, just takes the fun out of it, like so many games.

people that on purpose try to hit you, they would have to put a ban function in gt4 like in socom, people who are against that driver, vote him off

I thought that PD confirmed that voice support wouldn't be in GT4? This article says so.

What we do know is that via the network adaptor, up to six racers can be in one race at a time. Racing for pink slips is also in the cards. Rumor has it that the game will also support the 40-gig HDD that Sony is releasing in the first quarter of 2004. One thing we know isn't in GT4 is voice support; Polyphony confirmed it at E3. Bummer."
