Wow that's insane, Oh and here in Egypt most stores sell games at the range between 90 to a 100$ (equivilant) So You lose Chile :p

Of course all prices are placeholder, Sony have not announced any pricing yet. Retailers just want you to pre-order ASAP, a retailer in the UK already has the PS4 available to pre-order with a price of £400, that's only £25 less than the PS3. It's not going to be anywhere near that, not a chance.

They want your custom, simple as that. They know they're just guessing at prices at this point.

I've been interested in Watch Dogs for a while now but what I can't decide as of yet is whether to buy this for the Playstation 3 or the Playstation 4. I guess I'll just have to wait until more information is released about the PS4 and what advantages there would be from buying it on that console. At the moment though I'd be happy just to have it on my PS3.

Until E3 I suppose...

I actually don't expect the PS4 to be overly expensive. At least no where near the $600 price tag the PS3 had when it was released. I'm guessing $400. Simply because the technology in the PS4 isn't anything new. It's all PC hardware and tech, so it should cost less to produce, which means lower cost on the shelves. I actually wouldn't be surprised to see cheaper games eventually. If all my launch title games were coming out for other systems I'd actually want to give people a reason to buy them for the new system, and charging maybe $50 per game would certainly be an objective. I mean, PS4 games are essentially PC games, right?

I think the price of games will go up, it always has so far. In Aus, PS1 around $60-$70, PS2 $80-$90, PS3 mostly $110. If they increase to $100US, then they will be around $150.
No thanks

The part that has me most confused is how some of these games are coming this gen and next gen consoles. When that happens it means the current gen is usually pushed to the max or the next gen is a dumbed down port. Only examples I can think of right away are BF2:Modern Combat and NFS:MW. Those were on xbox and then on 360. When they went to the 360 they looked like crap. Same with Destiny. Thats supposed to be multi gen. So why put it on multiple gen consoles? Why not just pick one or the other?

I dont think you understand my question. I didnt mention pc at all.

I meant multi gen console. Nothing about PC.

xbox to 360
PS2 to PS3

360 to next xbox
PS3 to PS4

Two reasons. 1: The lead platform is PC. As the next gen consoles are basically PCs, it will be fairly easy to port it to them. 2: Money. It takes a while for a new console generation to properly take off. This is a fairly big budget game and Ubisoft will obviously want to make as much money as they possibly can. By limiting it to PC and next gen consoles, they will severely hamper their profits and we both know Ubisoft wouldn't want that now, don't we?

They're doing the same thing with Assassins Creed IV and will probably do the same with their other franchises.

So most of the graphics they are showing for this game are for THIS gen (PS3,360). If thats the case then those graphics are incredible. I thought they were only showing PS4 graphics for Watch Dogs. If it was for next gen it looks great but if thats this gen then wow!

Actually, no. I think it's been confirmed that the footage is from the PC version. We should expect the next gen version to look similar. The current gen version will probably still be quite a pretty game though.

Sorry for the lazy response but I was on my phone, meant that as high end PCs are more powerful than PS3 and 360s so making a game look good on two not equally powerful machines isn't that uncommon.

But yeah they won't probably look as good as they should be had they have been developed for next gen consoles only.

Are you talking about the trailer or the ACTUAL revealed gameplay at the PS4 announcment? Because the GAMEPLAY was on a Playstation System (PS4?). Proof? Circle, X, Square, and Triangle button appeared on the side of the screen (like a tutorial) whenever the player was about to do something.

^ If I play, say, Ghost Recon Future Soldier (also Ubisoft) with a 360 controller, any on-screen key prompts are replaced with 360 controller button icons. If the developer wants you to think it's a PS4 game they can easily swap an icon set for the relevant one, it doesn't prove which system it was played on.

This.

It's practically the same gameplay demo from the PlayStation Meeting except from the ctOS system's point of view. And it mentions autumn/fall 2013 as the release date, even though it's practically the same as the holiday 2013 release.

Slipped under the radar but I found a viral site.

http://chicago-ctos.com

Apparently, it has been taken over by a group known as "DedSec".
Another interesting point is a phrase in Latin at the bottom: "Quis Custodiet Costodes Ipsos". This translates to: "Who watches the watchmen?"
