I gotta say. I love my Bob as well. Now he's at Lvl 14 he's happy to win races for me. Seems to have a preference over which car's he uses. Gave him a maxed out TVR TAMORA to run the British lightweight championship and he didn't stand a chance against the ELISE'S So I got him one and hey presto he blew away the opposition.
My Bob is called O. OTTO. so I've nick named him ODDBALL. seems to fit him well. I have also noticed that he likes to over take the opposition on the outside, never on the inside. Makes me worry that he is scarred to even try the inside.

Another funny moment was when I let him run an early race in my Lambo round Madrid and he caused one hell of a pile up on the first hairpin. He shot into the lead and then just couldn't steer round the corner fast enough and everyone else just ploughed straight into him. All the AI drivers looked lost for about 10 seconds trying to reverse out and move on until he sorted himself out and went on his way. lol.

I noticed also that he really got a lot better around Level 15. He beat the VW Polo Championship in a "stock" GTI Cup Car against exactly the same competition. Kudos!

HOW??? Teach my driver how to do it. He struggles to take a slight bend in a 4WD car with soft racing tires and loads of downforce, and goes all wobbly on a straight when I tell him to increase pace.

Yeah, Bobs seem to make talent leaps every 5th level.
They start to show some skill at 15, are fairly good at 20, and can almost be left alone at 25. I hope that by the time I get them to 30 they are little Ayrton Senna Jrs.
 
I've noted my driver getting rather agressive around the 15 mark. Once his bar is maxed out he'll start bumping people out of the way. Rather amusing.
 
When I get GT5, I'm gonna call mind "Special Bob", or "Special Ed".

Had an epic moment last night with my Bob (lvl 10), during the Japanese 90's challenge on the cape ring circuit he hadnt taken the lead till the 3rd or 4th lap, he maintained it for a lap or so untill an MR2 did one of the dirtiest overtakes ive ever seen in my life, his cool meter shot straight up to the red and on the last lap as they were exiting the ring he overtook right on the point of the track were the car's get a bit of air, Basically a flying overtake to claim the win!
 
My Bob still makes silly mistakes, my level 12 Bob drives better that my 23 level Bob. lol
 
I'm proud of my Bob too.He just finished the extreme events with flying colors.He just had 2 losing races.👍
 
I'm pretty proud of my B-Spec Bobby too. We had our tough times together but he pulled through...
 
What's the trick to rapidly increasing a new Bob's spec later on, meaning... When I'm allowed 3 Bob's, what's recommended to get a new bob's level high, in the fastest time? Which races on which tracks?

Put him in a Minolta in the Indy race in the Dream Car championship. Instant jump from 0 to 9. You don't even have to babysit them since the Minolta is so overpowered. They'll easily get 1st.
 
Gave Bob a tuned JGTC car and raced the GT World Championship with it. Close racing and saw Bob did some pretty good driving....won me that Zonda R I've been lusting after....I notice a few things though, he for some reason is very slow on the "ring" part of the Cape Ring...he'll lose 3-4 sec in the ring alone....also happens to be the only race he lost in the championship...
 
I have 4 and they are all between level 28 and 30.
I am on my way to level 32, and should be on 35 by Monday afternoon.
 
I kicked bobs little digital dog into a pond out the back of my schwimmwagen.. His attitude has gotten alot better lately..
At first it was really frustrating. B spec was just turning into a money pit with no end in sight. Being that I don't like to destroy the AI In the race, I usually only do slight mods on my car, things I would do if I really owned the car.. Ecu, oil change, airfilter and that's usually it, if I do that much to it. But he needed everything he could get sometimes. It just felt like I was wasting my a spec winnings. But now that my garage is looking nice it's turned into a good money maker when I need a break from racing. Also love the 427 cobra and zonda r he won me.
 
Last night I had Bob racing the Ferrari series, he is lvl11 - and drove a blinder from start to finish.
He seems to have lost that over cautious braking when coming up to someone - He now just bungs it up the inside and rides the corner, taking a few bumps if needs be...

Gotta say it was exciting - and at the moment I have more fun in B spec than A.

Still depends on the driver though - I have a higher rated Bob (lvl15 I think) who just will not push - he's a blue bar driver (but at least you know what you are getting) - give him a quick car and he'll win without mistakes...

If you haven't opened that up yet the Daytona Race in the Supercar Festival is a great way to level them up too, especially with a race modified Vette.
 
My bobs had many good actions by now :)

The one that got my speachless:

Race was on SS Route 5 at night, my bob was, at that time, not really good at driving. I kept navigating him through the race, but he wasn´t able to get 1st. I was close to explode, when he couldn´t manage to take the lead the whole race......so i though, "ah **** off, then you only get 2nd, idiot!"

So on the straight to finish the race, Bob was still 2nd...all hopes for the win where gone. I stood up to get a cup of coffee, then i returned and watched at the race results: "What the, BOB DID IT?!?" He got first by 0.004 secs, also got me a trophy :sly:
 
Seems like the final straightaways are a real strength for bob.

You probably had the wrong tires on or low on fuel.
 
Remember a race at Laguna Seca in the American Championsship. He was driving a RM Corvette ZR1, and were compeeting with at Ford GT Spec-II for the first place, in a couple of laps. When they entered the last lap, my bob were 2nd, but from the second last corner to the last, they were side on side. And luckily, my bob had the inside of the last corner, wich meant, that he won. I were stunned!

So last night I put bob in the GT World Championship. He's leverl 13 but my b-spec level is 14, and I put him in the race modified Corvette. Several of the races where close, and I had to stay on top of the strategy to get him the wins.

The last race though was awesome. Bob battled his ___ off with a Ford GT race car. I found myself watching the thing like an actual race, calling on him to push. On the last lap bob had the lead. With two turns to go all his strength and mental strength were gone. All I could do was stress as I watched the Ford get closer and closer, but on the final straight bob dug deep and matted the throttle, winning the race and netting me the Zonda R as a prize car.

I just had to share this, it's been the best b-spec event of my game so far.

Just wait till you try and win the "old cars" cup, at Cote D Azur, where even with a level 26 driver, arrow UP, I managed only 2nd in a Toyota 7 Race car.
 
Same happened to my Bob at Daytona, but he was in the outside! I already thought, 'damn have to do that all over again and beaten by sec'.
Just after the finish I realized he won by less then 0.00.sec.
Actually watching Bob is fun.

At the Gallardo event he was also fighting some hard battles with the leading AI, even though that he was using a max tuned car he was not able to get him.
But somehow he did it in the final lap on second try.
On the first try, he damaged the car so hard during the race, hitting the walls that the whole left side was covered with black stripes and dents (on a white car). I was pritty impressed by the damage model. It gave the race also some sort of romantic charme, when he finished second with a completely broken and ***** up Lambo while the leading car was still in good condition.

Level 0 Bob put him in the B-Spec Level 28 INDY 500 Race with one other Bob ( you can use up to 4) he went from 0 to 20 in one Race :crazy:
 
Haven't gotten there yet, but in races with multiple Bob, do you have to manage driver changes?

My bob took two tries in a Toyota 7 Racer to take the win. Key was he started ahead of the other 7. It's a hard track to pass on with similar cars. My bob's off to formula racing and easily took the first three races. Was able to pass 5 cars in as many laps at Cote D Azur. I usually let him go for the first half of the race, then pick off the remaining few with speed up and pass commands. A veteran driver is much nicer than when he was in the lower levels.

Nope as they Enter the Pits there is a Screen POP UP offering changes to Driver , Tyres and Fuel Load , if you Ignore it Automaticaly does whatever is on it before the Car reaches its Pit Spot
 
There's a pit setting button at the lower right where you can set your drivers strength swap percentage. 10 being low and 90 being way to high. I saw where someone set theirs and it pitted every other lap or so. I tried it at 10. Worked fine.

Then, all of a sudden, he takes the last turn just a bit too quickly and then lands in the sand. The opponents were close to me, so what he did was stay in the sand until almost everyone passed him. He finished the race 7th. I swear, if there was a self-destruct button, I would've pushed it last night. :p

Mine got stuck behind a slower car right on the final lap at indy "like the wind" event. Instead of passing, he just cruised behind, until the competition caught up. He was 2nd in the end. And yes, i did press the owertake button many times.

Luckily it was just a peugeot 908 break-in run, nothing important, but that lunacy really ******* me!

He did make up for it by beating enzos at Monza and it got me my own F40.
