Well, since i'm on a diet right now, i'll share
i weigh in at about 175 pnds, 5'7''
i've lost like... 3 pounds in 5 days
What i do is fill myself up w/ water, eat healtheir, and eat less
although sometimes my stomach bothers me, i think it's keeping me more awake in class than if i ate alot

When i dont eat, i get tired. I weigh like 135 max. Im like 5'8. I'll go weigh myself in a minute.

Edit: I weigh 130 (exactly :odd: )

Geez - if I were you wouldn't go more than 4 hours without eating - you could starve to death!

Nah, im not that skinny. I'm just not all that strong. Haha.

I can only bench about 50 and curl about 30.. Pretty sad. Thats why i plan to start working out. Well... eventually...

pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease say your refering to Kgs. ....... the bar is only 45lbs by itself for christs sake you guys.

Well since standing around lifing weights has no point whatsoever I wouldn't worry about it. Your fitness should fit well with a healthy lifestyle. I can't think of anywhere where it says that includes curling or benching.

Take up cycling or go hiking and get some fresh air instead of smelly BO testosterone laden fumes. I used to hike the Squaw Peak in Phoenix three days a week after work. It was probably a harder hike than I wanted (steep incline all the way up about 2000 ft with maybe two gradual or level areas), but it made a noticeable difference in my energy level and overall physical strength. Then I moved and I'd have to go way out of my way to get there now. (interesting note... there were people who could seriously run all the way up and down twice in the time it takes a normal person to get to the top once...)

If you want better looking arms get some dumb-bells and di it in front of the TV.

If you want to get ripped and weird looking, meh... have fun I guess.

If you stop snacking and don't go to fast food places, and eat as healthy as you can, you can start to see a change. Works for me, but i also take Martial Arts classes every Tuesday and Thursday night.

 I'm sorry but thats hilaious!

I'm 6 even weighing at 155lbs. I'm light for my height but I can bench 160 and curl 80 free weights and 100 fixed.

That's not actually true - weight training, even in light forms, has enormous benefits, especially if you're looking to lose weight (i.e fat). People with increased muscle mass burn fat faster, it's good for your posture, bone density (good for later in life) and it's good for fitness. If you lift weights you don't have to do it to the point of looking like Arnold Schwarzegger. I have reasonable tone and good strength, but I look slim.

I've suffered with lower back pain, and an old cricketing neck injury I copped 7-8 years ago with a bulging disk tht flares up every 12-18 months. With guidance from my physiotherapist I've tailored an upper body weights program that's strengthened my back so I don't get pain there anymore, and when my neck flares up (which is much less often now) I'm not completely incapacitated now - my upper back is strong enough to support my neck and I can continue to function (previously when it's flared up I've been off work for a week).

It's also of great benefit when I run - I can maintain form for longer, ande upper body strength is of great help when climbing hills.

Stationary, repetitious movements have little or no appeal to most people, though. There are fun ways to be active. I just don't get the whole exercising for the sake of exercising thing. Why not stay inside all the time and spend 20 minutes under a UV lamp while we're at it. Or eat nothing but nutrition bars. It just seems so synthetic to me, communing with a machine or a device when you could be getting out in the wide world, see the sky, get some fresh air, and move. I'd much rather do something more wholistic.

smg considering that i'm only 14 n i'm weak.. don't diss me like that! :(
anyway, so ur advice is to go outside more? but its vancouver... you all kno vancouver.. the rainy city...

I do that as well - but I can't acheive the specific results I described above doing just that. If you're doing weights purely for aesthetic reasons I'm inclined to agree with you. It's not the most interesting thing in the world, but at the end of the day, it's only 1.5-2 hours a week.

For miles.

J/k. I gave up weight lifting and working out alot, over a year ago. I wasnt doing it for myself, i figured if i had a nice bod then it'd help me get ladies.

Now i figure, if they dont like me for who i am, then they dont deserve me. Simple as that. :D

I'm 6'2" 18 yrs old and weigh like 155. I started working out 3 weeks ago and havent weighed myself since. I dont plan to until the end of college. I wonder if I am even gaining weight...

I've gained close to 10 pounds in the last year or so due to Cross Country and Track... I was a muscle-less 5'6" at 106 pounds last year, but now I have quite a bit more heft in my legs, and weigh in at 116 pounds (5'7"). As long as it's not fat that I'm gaining, I don't mind at all, especially since due to that training I've cut my mile time by more than a minute. :)

I'd say that to keep a good weight, one just must eat modestly and drink more water instead of soda and that junk. The first point is the key one though-- you can eat just about whatever you want, but just eat it in reasonable proportions, and most people should be fine, assuming you also select from all the food groups. Water is important too... for example, I almost never drink soda, except when eating at a restaurant (regular or fastfood)... it loses its appeal after you haven't had any for a while.

I'm 20 years old, don't know how tall i am (about 1.6-1.8meters?) and only weigh about 64kg's.

In fact i was told by my doctor a couple of years ago that i had to gain weight! No joke.
