Who's with me? Now that DLC would sell. PD, being Japanese, have probably never heard of The Dukes of Hazzard. If they had any idea how much time those of us in our 30's and early 40's spent in our childhood pretending to drive the General Lee, I'm sure they would put out a DLC that includes the '69 Dodge Charger. I'd actually play the rally tracks with this! Just to clarify, I don't mean PD should license the General Lee and paint the car to look like that, I just mean a stock '69 charger.

(yes, I'm from the south. No, I'm not a fundie)

Really? Damn, aren't I the idiot? LOL. I do have a Charger in the game, but not the '69. I must have missed it. I'm downloading 2.03 right now, after its finished, you better believe I'm hopping on there, buying it, and painting the car orange. Though if its a standard, I still think putting out a premium version would sell well. Just not as well. Though it would be hard to let those who don't browse the forums know its the General Lee without the DLC explicitly mentioning it. I'm not a lawyer by no means, but I doubt the DLC could state that without having to pay a licensing fee. Thanks.

Sorry about the double post, I wasn't thinking.

I wonder how much the rights holders would charge to get the exact General Lee in the game? I would hope they would be reasonable.

It would be cool if it came tuned exactly how Bo & Luke would have had it set up.

They could always pass the extra expense onto the DLC cost, but I think much less people would buy it then. Yea, I'd get it, but I LOVED the Dukes as a child

With magic jumping abilities too! LOL, just kidding, maybe in some other game. At the very least, they could weld the doors shut!

I'm bookmarking this thread for reference in case its participants will complain at some point that there are too many "useless versions from different years" for car 'X' in GT5.

+1 .. maybe we can have a track that goes around a trailer park, and a special event where we have to transport moon shine... or not

no we don't. but ^ this and a couple hilarious sounding horns could be an add-on.

I'm surprised we haven't had a horn pack DLC yet. I'd pay £1 for some sirens, the dixie horn, the godfather and other various classics. :D

a la Cucaracha horn for my premium beetle, a dixie horn for my *cliche* orange charger, oh yes.

This is what I was referring to facepalm guy... Elric was asking about securing rights to have the actual car in game. I do not think that will happen, so the '70 painted orange is our best option. How exactly does that make you want to punch yourself in the forehead?

This= Facepalm.

He facepalmed because youre talking about a '70 challenger, and this thread is about a charger.

they are 2 different cars

HOWEVER, you did not receive a facepalm from me, because, its close-goddamn-enough

Exactly, the cars look almost identical. It's the best option we have at this point if your after a General Lee.

^That's correct, the Challenger does not have the black grill cover hiding the headlights, the Charger does.
As far as the body, the only major difference between '69 and 70' were the rear tailights.
But, 1970 is the year Dodge introduced the infamous 440...

The doors are different too.

I hated that show, and not just for the horrid "acting" and insipid "writing" - I really hated it because every time they did one of those idiotic jumps, they wrote off another classic musclecar, and I cringed. That show killed more Chargers than the drunken teens of my youth!

On the one hand, I'd cringe again seeing that besotted idiotmobile in the game; on the other hand, though, at least when backwoods yokel-wannabes trashed the virtual version, no real cars would be harmed in the process!
