Hi :gtplanet:. I make this new thread because some days ago , i've got a flashback about an old new from GTPlanet where Yamauchi was saying than he was gonna to make a freeroam mode (the post is here : https://www.gtplanet.net/yamauchi-on-gt5s-mechanical-damage-updates-more/).
A freeroam mode for GT5 will be AMAZING. I guess than all GT5 players will love a freeroam mode on gt5 , me first. It will be nice if GTPlanet can ask Yamauchi if he's still having the idea of a freeroam mode on GT5 , and ask him to make it.
And , i need to change all my standard cars wheels !!!

Why would free roam be great..... I thought the idea was to go around tracks?

Okay. Is this a question?

I think you might want to put your suggestion here: Feedback

What might be better is to give you a city layout and then let you make your own tracks within that, removing street furniture and adding barriers etc where appropriate.

That sort of sounds like Project Gotham Racing. It's been several years since I played PGR3 and PGR4, but I'm 99% certain they had maps of cities like New York and allowed me to draw a route through those maps as race circuits. It was pretty nifty, as I recall.

that would be cool.

Freeroam... where?? o_O ?

To the infield at Laguna Seca or Indianapolis? The side-streets in Tokyo R246?

None of the GT series have ever had any kind of "freeroam" mode; that would be a LOT of additional time, building an area for us to roam.

And what would we do once we get there? Most "freeroam" games I can think of (particularly, the Need for Speed and Midnight Club franchises) usually incorporates various race-courses over an already set map; re-sectioning the map in different ways to create new courses.

I don't see how they could tie that kind of game mechanic into GT5.

They already have enough streets to drive on in the game. The graphics are still great wherever the camera can see so why can't they just open the barriers? It shouldn't be that difficult. BUT, considering PD's precision, that is why it is difficult.
