Weather changes in Le Mans 24 hour

I am going to finally tackle the A-spec Le Mans 24 hour race, but before I start, I wanted to know what kind of weather habits the race shows. If you start the race sunny, does it stay sunny/clear, and for how long? If it starts out wet and rainy, does it stay this way for long? What's your experience? I'm trying to get lucky enough to have a completely clear race so I can see a nice sunset and sunrise.

Really the weather is at random. Though, the usual amount of rain I hear of can last from 2 hours to 8 hours at any given time. Possibly not including the tarmac being wet. It would be pretty rare to have a completely dry race. Good luck. :)

When I did it this is what happened and it seems to be relatively same for everyone. Inbetween 4-5 hours of the race starting I went into evening then nightime. I had 9 hours of darkness. In the 1st hour of darkness I had 20 minutes of heavy rain. Then it stopped for about half an hour. After that I got light rain for 2 hours so you should be on intermediates if that happens. Then it stays dry for the rest of the race. BE CAREFUL WHEN IT STOPS RAINING, THE TRACK STAYS DAMP FOR ABOUT 30MINS AFTER.

It rained practically all night for me, which shows that it trully is different for everyone. I'm not sure how the new tyre wear effects things but i loved the rain- mainly because it allowed me to be alot faster then the AI in an otherwise very close race.

I think it's just luck of the draw..

Thanks, man. The race started sunny, right?

No problems mate and yes it did start dry. I used racing mediums on the front and racing hards on the rear. It all depends on your driving style aswell. I am a smooth driver so thats why I had mediums on the front as they didn't wear out for me but some people might need hards on the front if they are more aggressive. With the new update now drive in segments, I did an hour at a time but I did before they could let you save where you were up to. Just be consistent with your lap times so that you don't let them catch up and you wear your tyres out too quickly. I hope this helps and best of luck I know I renamed it the 24 hours of hell after I did it. :)
