Ok, i've kinda decided to make a vector website, spurred on by other people's efforts.

http://www.angelfire.com/ill/vectorart/

Used a base from bluerobot.com and got help from sUn about the box layout (cheers :)).

The CSS of the site needs editting lots so that it looks less like the bluerobot template. Any suggestions of colours schemes?

The blurb on the intro page needs reworking (i really don't know what i'm talking about). Can anyone shed some light on a better description?

Any other c & c is very welcome. Not too bothered about the code unless someone spots a major error.

Ta :)

Not bad there John. Very simple for what i know you are capable of!!! What happened man, did you throw it all together in a few hours or something. HONESTLY...what are they teaching you at Uni, ay!? ;)

Hee, hee, hee...just kiddin, it's great I'm just Jealous. I really do like your Vectoring abilities. You can work Flash can't you? How about, just for giggles, you make the outlined car at the top in the blue bit look as though it is moving forward, as if on a race track or something?
Do especially like the Honda S2000, perhaps with less carbon fiber looking stuff and in a flip between red and black? Think you can do it? But the creme de la creme of it all, for me anyway, is your Mazda RX7! Hmm...must get one for myself :)

Speak to you again later.

Here you go hebiskes, that S2000 you ordered. pretty poo, but not too bad. Flip is too hard with vectors :(

On some of the vector links, a set of scrollbars is created in the content box. I don't like that. You have to make the content box a little bit bigger, I think.

You are linking to image on deviantART. They don't like that, thus they disallow the viewing of the larger images. Upload the full-view image to your own server instead of attempting to leech from deviantaART.

Looks good on the whole. It doesn't look like you copied BlueRobot much save for the menu on the left and the color scheme.

Don't have the problem myself, but will make the content box slightly bigger, if only just for you Klos.

Done (well, will be done tommorow). Links down tonight to larger images.

Muchos gracias. I'll sort out the colour scheme laters. Cheers Klos.

As Burnout said... It doesn't work in Firefox. In IE6, I got a "Stack Overflow at line 0" error.

Get a better host, also. Angelfire bites. Might I suggest the Hosting list thread in Web Design?

This should be in Web Design, BTW.

I know it should be in Web Design, but not many people look in there.

Kinda looking for advice on making it better.
Oh well i'll move it before a mod does.

Oops, I didn't notice the writing on the top of the page, it seem's to me like a angelfire.com code, so that's just your host not exactly your website's problem.

**** i didn't notice that code. They've added reems of ad code! Dammit, that's prob the error then? I need a new host already!

No, not really, I'm trying to find a good combo. The current one is to tropically coloured for my tastes. :puke:

Very nice, indeed. :) The navigation list should be marked up as an unordered list, but otherwise everything's pretty much well and done.

Also, speaking of that navigation list, when the font size is increased, the text gets hidden by the content box. I'd suggest you'd allow it to stretch vertically instead.

If your looking for a better free host try, http://www.angeltowns.com

Unfortunately after loading afew pages I had had enough of those ads. Find a new host, please.

Until then the only thing I can say is looks nice, and a bit more. I've seeing quite alot of these "blue robot" colour schemes everywhere. Change the blue to something else but keep it clean and clear. Finally on the pages with the cars can the images have some pading from the bottom horizontal scrollbar otherwise it looks cramped, I'm not sure if this is due to the advertising or not but it needs some space. Other than that cool!

donbenni, you should try out Freewebs.com , it's free, no pop-ups, but there's a 50 file limit. It's not that bad. 👍

Better than geocities.

EDIT: ALPHA you beat me too it.

Alpha can you post a screen shot about what you mean with the scrollbars? There should be no scroll bars on the site whatsoever.

You can see the scrollbars and ads in this screenshot. This is exactly what I see when the site loads. I think the ad code may be causing it.

Could you give me some comments on mine? (See my thread.)

That's awful, i didn't realise it looked so bad.

I don't get any adds or pop ups or anything, looks just like it does when i made it.

I'll upload it elsewhere.

Cheers skip.

im pretty sad to say that I see it the same way Burnout's pic depicts. its a real pitty dude, because Mozilla is the only browser I have right now (I, for some odd reason, can't install IE O_o) nd I would have loved to see your site. but what the heck. I saw some of the screencaps posted and it looks nice, crisp and clean. I hope I'll have a chance to really check it out sometime man
