week 1 driving skill competition - f40 @ suzuka

Hi guys, welcome to week 1 of the driving skill competition. This is a new weekly competition where driving skill is everything. Each week a stock car and track is chosen the car CANNOT be tuned or modified in anyway as to give an advantage over others.

This week is the Ferrari F40 at suzuka and tyre choice is SPORTS SOFT max. All aids are to be turned off except ABS on 1. Transmission choice is down to you.

This is an offline competition and you can do anytime, just choose the car through arcade mode then select the track. Everybody Is free to enter.

Please send in your best lap time stating whether you used ds3 or wheel (lap must not have gone red). At the end of the week a leaderboard will be drawn up.

When sending your times in please could you use the following format:

Driver: GTP name/PSN name
Time:
Transmission: Auto/Manual (if manual state whether clutch used)
Controller: DS3/wheel
ABS:

I m about to make dinner for my family and when I do that I am allowed to have a few beers so today I would not be a good racedriver

Yeah sure its only a bit of fun, you can do as many laps as you feel happy with

A while back I opened a room for the same thing.
Ferrari F40 at Monza. Beat my lap and win the ticket of your choice. Only one person entered the room and attempted a lap...and they were 15 seconds behind me.

This is a good idea and I hope it gains some traction.

Thanks yeah I just want people to be able to take part and not have to worry about their tuning. Have you done any laps yet?

This is a great idea. I will be running laps this week. Busy daty today, so I cant do laps today.

I have loved the F-40 since the first pictures I saw of it in Car and Driver so many years ago. I wish that I still had that issue. This is my dream car and the only road Ferrari that has ever really captured my imagination.

Haha the bonus of this is that it can be done offline so there are no timings to worry about you can simply go on for as long as you want and when you want.

My best lap was 2:13.955, then I gave up on trying to beat phil.

Used a DS3 with a manual 'box.

The GTP WRS allows changing settings etc and also requires that you have a GTP_xxxxx psn login.

This differs as it isnt anything to do with your tuning ability, it's exactly the same car, exactly the same track. Whilst this happens sometimes in the GTP WRS (see the week 55 event) it is not ALWAYS the case. And there is no need to qualify, no divisions or anything like that. It's much more casual.

Just a good bit of fun to be honest.

So get your a** in an F40 and tear up that japanese track, but try not to end up like this here

Also, have finished the basic Google Docs time list. Currently phil_75 is 1st in the DS3 side of things! Way to go!
