50's are easily possible for the 686, ran a low 51 in mine last night, and it certainly wasnt the best i could extract from the car at all

Will check back tonight for the rule clarification, on my question above

Hiya Bollocks#999
:D Have to say that IMO the "Fast Guys" will be in the 49s in "Free Run." I just ran 50.188 / "Clean but Sloppy" after 30-35 Laps using 90% of CFM's set-up. I think we'll see a 49.5  (NOT from Me!) before long. Thanx again CFM 👍 ...UB57 :D

Jesus Bob   either you've been eating them magic mushrooms again! ..... or you just totally smashed the hell out of my lap  way to go mate

Thats a disgusting time btw :p :D

👍

well i put in a few laps. im pretty happy with the first lap. 2nd was a bit slow at 53.0 3rd was good for me at 52.6. my best ever with this in free run is 52.2 so for now 52.7 is good. maybe i'll give cfm's setup and see what i can get.

As for pal users...

You can use the sharked 686.

If you don't have anything beside the p002 (which ever that one is  ) Then use the 002 and mark it in your time submission, all 002 runs will be seperate in the results just to make it level.

Yeah, so people running different cars will be marked... so remember to submit your car with your time. ;)

:( Man, do I ever suck.

I haven't run any free run laps, but I took 3 or 4 tries at the race last night. Best lap was in the 54.low" range. I physically cannot find the groove through the S-turn at the tunnel. It took me a long time to gold license A6 there, too. I turn into the second turn late, and I wash out into the kittylitter. I turn into the second turn early, and I cross the rumble early and then wash out into the kitty litter. I just cannot get a decent line through that turn, without half a dozen lifts.

This is the Polyphony 002.So far i have:
T1=15.867
T2=31.568

got a race in the can with two mid 52.xs and a good opening lap...I may not have time to run again (going away tomorrow to Monday) but this should at least put me in the middle of Div 2....stuck in the middle again.

Using the 686...though the 687 ain't bad, though the lower hp rules it out but it has better handling....the 688 has the best handling of the three but is way down on grunt compared to the 686/87

This is rather fitting driving Senna's cars (687/88) for this week on the 10th anniversery of his death at Imola in 1994.....

I have a best free run hot lap pf 51.7....now if only I could gather that in a 3 lapper.

I'll see what i can do, this is a fun combo though I have no real love of Midfield (probably my weakest circuit in GT3)....

Hi Y'All:
:D Most likely won't get any Laps in this wekend so thought I'd better get one "In The Can."
Best Lap #2 51.028
Best Lap #3 50.918
First Lap was well off the pace AND discovered I'd let the oil get dirty :banghead:so only had 955HP but still my best Race Time so far. Gotta change the oil :irked:& see if I can find some more time...UB57 :D

UpDate:
Best Lap #2 50.637
Best Lap #3 50.690
But NOT in the same race!:irked: :banghead: :irked:

So I'm wondering what you guys would like to do about the pal thing...

Would you like me to split the results by car? By ntsc/pal? By hp?

Or do you all even car to have the results split?

No split with cars driven marked?

Well get back to me on this before the deadline, and as many of you as possible.

Thanks.:D

btw, awesome work bob. 👍

A sharked car should be seperate from the non sharked results. I know you are trying to even the playing field but I could shark a car too and without you asking for replays from everyone well...
I will have a time in for this race.

To be a wet blanket, at a disadvantage to the NTSC guys, we should use the approximately comparable car to the 002, whichever that one is

Leave it for this race, just name the car in the submission and standardize it for the next time we use a turbo F1

just my five cents

An F1 race has to be with either the "F094s or Polyphony001" or between the "F688s or Polyphony002."

Any other way and you create an imbalance between PAL & NTSC.

You could have asked....

The major problem for OLR between PAL & NTSC is the F1 differences. My RGT, Zonda, Supra etc is exactly the same as your RGT, Zonda, Supra etc, but I cannot get the NTSC F686m which gives you an advantage over the P002 at certain tracks. The 686m has the power, and Midfield is a power track.

It doesn't affect me anyway as I don't drive the F1s.

For smug-ass people like me, running a 686/M chassis isn't a problem. However, what BODY are we allowed to use?

The F094/S, F094/H, F090/S, F688/S, F687/S and F686/M bodies aren't on the PAL disk, with the locations for the F094/S and F688/S bodies being replaced with P001 and P002 bodies (they're essentially the same car, but they do have different bodies to their Fnnn/x counterparts).

So the F686/M chassis is no problem, but we cannot access the body.

The chassis is 2790mm. The only PAL body we can get which comes close to fitting (+/- 10mm) is the Falcon XR8, but that puts us at a serious aerodynamic disadvantage. The closest F1 body is the P002, but it's 85mm longer and so would look bloody stupid.

OR, you could just create a P002 division - but then why shouldn't you create a third league for the F687/S, should people choose to drive that?

OR OR, you could do what Bollocks suggested and only have a P002 & F688/S race.

F1 cars are a big old mess, thanks to localisation issues. Bastards.

Indeed, f1's have now proven themselves to be a big old hassle.

However, you can't do any sort of hybriding, that is clearly stated in the rules. (I think :D )

Flat out...
Just run which ever one of the cars you all would like, then include it in the results.

I will mark them in the results and I will even seperate the cars if you all wish.

However, I can say for sure that there will never be another multi car f1 race on my watch here at the weekly. (and I doubt anyone will complain.)

In that case, this:

Is irrelevant, since you cannot have a sharked F686/M in the PAL version - only the chassis with a different body.

Sorry bout that, I just didn't know the 686 was completely unavailible to all pal users.

Pal users can use whatever they want as long as it stays with in the rules.

f1
6 cylinder
No hybriding

Take that for what you will.
:D

Good luck and try to have fun with this... winning is everything to some of you, but I guess this week you're either gonna have to stick it out or punk out.

Run if you all want, skip if that is what you want. (although I do not like skipping. ;) )
Either way, next week is a new week, so until then...
Later. :D

leaving for my weekend in a few hours, won't be back until Monday.

I managed another 45mins today with this race, REALLY sloppy lap but chopped .8secs off my final time, it may have to do. If i get home early enough Monday I will run a bit more but not planning on it.

Fun race....I seem to be one of the few who enjoy the F1 cars in GT3. I'd take the F686 over that goddamn worthless viper anyday....Being a major F1 fan sorta enforces that...hahah.

This is some challenge coming from the MINI cup, but I've given it a few tries. It's pretty hard to keep it clean through 3 minutes filled with insane speed and sheer panic. Quite fascinating. :D

At the moment I'm way of pace and lapping at 55. :irked:

Don't feel bad nielsg...

I have been lapping in the high 52 range. ;)

I haven't even gotten to run anything besides free run, but still, just goes to show that from time to time, with one race or another, we all have a hard time with the combo.

For me, rally and f1 seem to be problems, but at the same time, I'm not exactly a slacker. ;)

Then again, with all the socom I've been playing, it might be time for the organizer to revoke my div 1 license and send me back into training.

I wouln't do that, but just thought I would let you all know that I am way slower than my usual pace, and probably will be for some time to come.

Hope to see you guys turning in times, and maybe enjoying the race.

Talk to you all later, and if not before the results, then I will atleast catch you all with the results... :D

Till then,
bye.

I don't have a problem with just naming the car you used, you'll be able to see who was fastest in a 002 or a 688 ect. I must remeber to post a time on time this week, I've only had one run but it's bank holiday Monday tomorrow so I'll get a session in then.

Finally got a chance to run this:

52.701 53.630 best clean save.

Consistency over three laps will be the test on this one. Hope to do better tomorrow with a fresh start. Today I was always just two decent laps, with a third one half a second off my pace. Think I can do about 105.5 sec for the two flyin laps. We'll see. :banghead:

Dissappointing time turned in...this combo is not for me, I suck at F1's and Midfield, so combined, well, that's a steaming turd of a total for sure!

Good luck to all the contenders :D

Not been back to this since the time I posted as I've been fairly occupied elsewhere :D anyway Bob scared me off with those crazy laps he was too much for me 👍 no submission from me this week ...... but good luck to all

cya's around:cool:

Whoa Baby!!!
:D What an "Eye Opener"!!! Haven't even had the PS2 on for three days (Very busy w/Real Life) & the last time is WAS on I was learning "Prolouge's" Rides & Venues. Flipped 'er on this AM & went right to this weeks Race. WOW!!! are these F-1s quick! Took me FIVE Laps to NOT Hit a Wall & TEN Laps to even get in the low 51's. Have run the race 3 times & managed to shave a whole 1/10 off my 3-Lap time. Think I've about reached my Zenith here, will give 'er a coupla more shots & submit my time. "Good Luck Y'All' See you at next Week's Race! 👍...UB57 :D
