Week 84: Realistic (yeah right?!)

Yeah, I realized that after I posted. Currently I'm in the process of tuning my car; I've seen 1'02 T2s in it and am currently refining it.

Edit:
Fastest Lap (after 3):
T1: 0'27.160
T2: 1'00.775
T3: 1'17.962

Got it down to:

27.020
1'00.786
1'18.031

With the lightweight stage 3 and some engine wear in. PWR: 4.057
 
After a few extra laps and some deep ( :dopey: ) settings, I'm now at :
T1 = 27.004
T2 = 1'00.902
T3 = 1'18.281

@Niels : indeed I'm now exactly at p/w ratio = 4.000 so I need to reload the game after 2 laps. I think I'll X-port it to set back the original oil values.
I'll also try the lightweight trick in case I can save some more time thanks to it.

Best I could muster with the S2000 was low 1:18 T3's.
That was with the same time and amount of tuning I spent on 2 other cars and ran high 1:16's- low 1:17's.

The S2000 is a great car in real life, but it's lacking in GT3. 👎

I have found 2 cars that can run the times I'm posting and they are VERY closely matched actually. So it looks to be some fun racing between a couple different makes this week. 👍

Tried half a dozen cars, easy to find one that'll run 1'18's. I've got a guess about 'the car'. No clean lap so far, best splits 26.8 / 1'00.5 / 1'17.3
 
I have a guess about that sleeper as well, but must resort to homwork before I can continue my quest. :irked:
 
Oh....and the plot thickens! These mystery novels just keep you in suspense.....I haven't figured out what the 'killer' car is yet. Too tired to find out tonight, maybe tomorrow we'll spin some sims and solve this mystery. 💡

My first lap, and a bad one at that, was a 1'16.3

So with a little work I am sure that the car would put down some great times.

I still have to wonder what HighonPSI is using since he managed a 15 and never mentioned what the car was... but oh well.

You guys get the honor of running this one without me.
I don't need you guys to think I was practicing this race during my absence last week... and so, I will not be submitting this week.

So for that same reason I will be more than willing to help everyone I can.

BTW, I suppose the Altezza LM Race Car is forbidden, though it is mis-considered a Road Car in the game?
 
To help preserve the suspense, I'm not driving the Celica GT4 with my 1'16.1. I have run a 1'15.8 with the Celica, but my 1'16.1 is faster overall. ;)
 
i thought of a cool car that was not mentioned. two of them actually with one being a dead lock. i might take a whack at this (or not).

With the GT-Four I got it down to:

After the last couple of days, driving all kind of monster cars, the GT-four handles almost sweet with the sim tires on.

The Altezza LM is not eligible for the Formula GT championship which is for race cars only.
 
I actually stumbled onto this car while browsing my mem cards this evening, before I logged onto the site. I put some basic sets on it fully expecting to be disappointed. It handled so well that I went back to double check to make sure I had the sim tires on.....yes, they were!

So, a handful of laps and the potential was obvious:

T-1 = 26.553
T-2= 1:00.354
T-3= 1:16.327

A little more work and I can imagine myself on the pace. But, I actually thought this car was going to be the oddball.....wrong!

What else seems to have potential since the mystery is over? The Ruf 3400S is quick, but nearly impossible to keep pointed straight. The Mercedes Kompressor is nice to drive but not as quick as the Ruf. That's pretty much all I've tried.
